To be fair us getting this sorted 1 week before the season starts would actually be ‘early’ by our standards!

We’ve had Modric sagas run into then first few games of the season and Berbatov was sold on deadline day I seem to remember.
thats the worry for me. for all these statements of deadlines etc, i can still seeing it go to deadline day. which will affect us going in to the new season.

Bayern want it sorted by next weekend at the latest.

Any delay at this point is Levy trying to wrap some more incomings up before announcing the deal.

Thats my hope. My opinion is he will go, as it has gone to far down the line now. Not that i want him to go of course.

If they're working on Kanes exit I think they will announce a few signings first
We seem to have Phillips, VdV and Veliz set up for the weekend so maybe announce them all before Sundays game
I imagine it will run a few days until we announce letting Kane go
I also imagine Levy doesn't want to the backlash at home on Sunday so I think it gets done after Sunday
That gives about 2 weeks until our next home game where I think Levy will try get 1 or 2 in for him

1 week before the season.

Great preparation as usual.
More down to luck than design probably but the disruption isn't that huge imo. We've got a CB to start at Brentford now anyway and Richarlison will start up front. Still going to have a competitive 11 and bench and we can leave Kane out of the squad completely if needs be.

I’ve tried to stay away from this thread as it’s going to cost me a fortune to redecorate my youngest’s bedroom but Bayern still makes no sense, if I’m H why do I go there? What, to win a German title and domestic cup next season? Do that versus getting closer to the PL top scorer record? Bayern sure as hell won’t be winning the CL, he’d be better off going to PSG if that’s his MO.
The guy is probably the best no9 in world football, why go to Germany to play against three half decent teams domestically a season?
Makes bugger all sense to me, I’d see out my contract and personally knock on the door of any club that fluttered their eyelids at me come January,.
Unless of course we actually look half decent come Christmas and he’s as deluded as most of us on here to think there might just be a chance of us actuality winning something….

One of the biggest 5 clubs in world football and knocked the PSG team you mention out of the CL last year

I think you’re underrating and disrespecting Bayern Munich tbh, they’re one of the biggest and most
successful football clubs of all time.

They’ve won:
•their league the last 11 years in a row
•their FA Cup 5x in the last 10 years
•the Champions League 6x, twice in the last 10 years
•they’re also the 6th Richest club in the world by Revenue.

They have a huge amount of history, prestige, reputation and respect in world football.

They have a very strong squad with one of the best managers in the world.

There really won’t be many better moves that Kane could make.

Add to all of this, Munich is a very nice city especially for a young family and most Germans speak brilliant English.

Why would he prefer a move to Paris and to a team who’s never even won the CL and who haven’t even submitted a bid for him.

Bayern have spoken well of Kane for years and Tuchel really wants him. If he goes, he goes to one of the biggest football clubs in the world with a rich history, with an almost guarantee of 1-2 trophies a season and with his help a decent shot at the CL each year based on the draw etc.

He can come back a few years later and break Shearers record and even if he doesn’t he’s the England and Tottenham all time record goalscorer, he’s always said team trophies mean more to him than individual awards.

Look I sad it’s come to this but the deal makes sense all round and let’s not try and underplay what a huge club and draw Bayern Munich are for Harry Kane.

For those who are saying Kane has ‘no chance’ of winning the CL with Bayern, their record over the last 10-15 years in the CL is pretty damn impressive and adding a player like Kane could be the difference for them just like City adding Haaland.

Bayern’s CL Record:

The last 25 years:
•3x winner
•3x runner-up
•5x semi-finalists
•8x quarter-finalists
Qualified for the last 16 in 24 of their last 25 seasons! 😮

On the other hand, Kane stays with us for a season, runs down his contract and goes to Real Madrid as a free agent - a club, in terms of achievement, that Bayern can only dream of.

That’s when Mbappe will allegedly join them

Imagine a front three of Kane, Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. Or perhaps Kane playing a slightly deeper role.

Either way, that's fairly good. And more's the point, Real don't have to worry about inconvenient things such as transfer fees.

P.S. Probably still won't be enough to outgun Shiteh, who I can easily see winning the next two or three CLs on the trot.

I still think he’s gone, but only for one reason. Joe and Levy don’t want to risk him walking for free next season. Bayern does have him over a barrel on this one.

I think there has been a fear that se will blow the Kane money in the way we did with the Bale money.

I would argue that was majorly down to Baldini, his contacts and just identifying players who had a lot of promise without any consideration on whether they could be moulded into a team.

For example, Lamela was apparently a Bale replacement despite being nothing like him. Chiriches was so far out of his depth. Paulinho didnt have the intensity for the PL.

We seem to be targetting a lot based on potential AND data - hopefully that data has been set with the necessary criteria.

And if Paratici is still involved, at least his track record has been decent for us.

So maybe things will work out well.

Sad I guess but end of the day I’m a Tottenham fan and I think this will be quite exciting if we can move to a more dynamic front 3. Similar to Liverpool.

Yes - unless Kane adapts.

(I full expect Kane to adapt to Ange's tactics if he stays, but if he does not, then Ange will drop him. And, I expect that Ange will sub and rotate him more often than Mourinho or Conte would)
Hahahahahahaha - I’ve seen it all now. You must be joking / trolling or just hell bent on taking the contrarian view on every single topic.
