If they offer what we want, think we will let him go
If it's a huge bid, despite his contract situation, then we can't really complain (unless the money isn't reinvested into the playing squad). If it's <£100m then "we" don't want enough.

If we can get the full whack (somewhere around 100m) Kane wants to leave and Ange is in favour then I'm in favour of just biting the bullet.

Anything less and he stays.

When you take the emotion out - it makes sense. Life is full of compromise.
The same compromise that’s been in place since day 1 of football…offer the right amount of money and you can have him. Not sure this news moves the needle.

Seems like we'd push Bayern closer to that 100m mark. Maybe shy of it, but whacking on some very achievable add-ons and it may be a goer.

If we do sell, I'd like to see us go for Scott and Ferguson and just reset to a young, hungry spine.

Just saying the same to my brother. Richy as your ready to go player and someone younger top talent as the upcoming one.

Very interesting. I just don’t see how we could spend £70-100m to ‘replace him’.
He can’t be replaced in goals and assist output - certainly not immediately.

The argument the money could be spent across the squad just doesn’t wash for me. Another CB can be funded in other ways.

If Kane stays and helps us secure CL, wouldn’t the commerical benefits equate to his transfer value?

I would be very disappointed.

I like this idea, but I see 2 problems.
Firstly Ferguson will be prohibitively expensive for a lad who's only potential.
Secondly he's Irish

I think we can replace the out put if we look at it as a collective.

No one player can replace Kane but a team is a sun of the parts. If Ange can get us pressing and playing attacking football we will be fine.

On the flip side, if we keep him now we’ll still need to replace him next year with potentially no funds from a sale!

It’s a tough one but taking the emotion out of it, this could be the sensible option if we can 100m.

If we do accept an offer, I for one will be gutted.

I just don’t see it that way unfortunately. Not when we have so many other fringe players who could fund these players.

Having watched Ferguson live a few times he has a lot of development to do.

A majority of our fan base is looking for immediate improvements this season. Losing Kane is like replacing your Queen with a few pawns.

I hope we have a list of strikers ready to go in that case.
I'm not sure anyone would satisfy - anyone we sign will be seen as lesser. Straight replacing him is basically impossible, because he's that good: it's a lot of pressure on a youngster like Ferguson, or it's praying someone like David adapts, or it's feeling immensely underwhelmed at an older head like Zaha coming in. It's why I think selling him would be mad, because I see no way we lose him and improve.

That is a fair counter argument 👍

I’d be hoping a good season would give us hope on a new contract. Wishful thinking perhaps.
