Last season we finished 17 points above Newcastle. Give them Kane and arguably they're already the better side and will only grow from there...

How about if we invest 150m to the side? It would be a no brainer. Take the money. We should have done it in the summer

that's a bit much. i don't rate our squad that highly but we're still clear of newcastle, with or without kane. i don't think him going there is as outlandish as some suggest though.

Selling Kane to Newcastle would be the best case scenario. We absolutely rinse them and rebuild the squad and they get a player who is in his peak and who will be past his peak by the time they're actually challenging for anything.

Absolutely no chance of Newcastle being the better side with Kane.

I couldn't care less where Kane goes as long as it's not United really.

Sooner than us then!!

And with the right appointments at the top and some wise signings it won’t take 3 seasons for a half decent team

This January and the Summer and they could definitely have a half decent team
Sorry but if they turned round to Kane and said they've got limitless money to spend on an exciting new project of course he's going to think about it. He knows that he has a much bigger chance than at Spurs where opportunities for trophies and CL qualification has dwindled alarmingly. If Bone Saw Utd chucked a load of money at Levy for their marquee signing reckon he'd think about it too. I could see this happening.

It could easily take another 3 or even 5 years before Newcastle will win a major trophy. Man. City is the place to be if you want to win silverware in the next couple of seasons.

Whereas in the modern era we average a League Cup every 15 years...

I take it you’ve not seen Newcastle this year. We have been shit, and we are still 9 points clear of Newcastle after 7 games.

Giving them Kane won’t help them much, and probably helps us even more.

Players like Kane will not be going to Newcastle. People like Coutinho who have won everything will be targetted as their need for silverware isn't as high as someone like Kane. Kane won't go to Newcastle unless it's on a free in a couple of years, even then if he does become a free agent I'd expect the big fish to have got him lined up months before.

I imagine Newcastle will also go the route City did and start signing very very talented young players like Kompany who will sign up for the "project". They'll be on stupid wages and likely have exit clauses on those contracts so if things don't pan out within a couple of years they can get out.

If we took their blood soaked money for kane, and then quickly spent it all on replacements, how contaminated would the club be? You know, If it was just temporarily resting in the current account?

Or is it the money would be clean but kane would then be drenched in blood?

Players like Coutinho won't take them very far either which is why it will take them a couple of seasons to get up there. Coutinho shined for Liverpool because of Klopp, Rodgers and having players like Suarez to work off as well as a very good system. That takes time to instill.

City were in a better position than Newcastle currently are in now when they had investment and they had to start with high profile players no longer wanted at their club (Robinho) or punts (Elano).

They'll be flaky as, if players like Coutinho go there. They would be much smarter building a stable core. City's best signing in the start was Kompany, but a lot of others were on and off because their mentality wasn't right.

They have a very very average team so even three of four statement signings won't suddenly shoot them up the table. Especially of those players are like Coutinho.

Their best bet would be to hire a very good sporting director and a coach to match, then beat other clubs to the rising talent from around Europe.

I hope they are stupid enough to go down the buy 'the big players' route like City started with.

Under ENIC we average one Lge Cup every 20 years. Our worst trophy haul for over 100 years.
No idea who will win the next trophy out of us and Toon. But if we had the Saudi money it would be a no brainer, us all day long

I don't believe any reports about Kane going to Newcastle and he wouldn't go there anyway. He wants to leave to win trophies not just for the money so Newcastle are not in the running.

I’ll piss myself if these owners turn out to be like Joe Lewis and doesn’t give them a penny to spend. Imagine the meltdown.
