What are you on about? I haven't said anything about Sunday's match.

We aren't close to bringing in any of Kane's replacements currently.

Martinez is apparently in talks over a new contract and his agent came out and said he wants to stay. With Vlahovic we've enquired but that hasn't seemingly progressed either.

The way I see it, we're about to lose our best player and still have all the glaring weaknesses in the squad from last year too.

Tottenham need to get a move on because the team is severely lacking in quality currently.

Has the makings of being an absolute s*** show. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Any chance you can elaborate mate?

Kane thread
Time to start spending

I'm guessing we are getting a large cash injection..... Going out on a limb and suggest we have accepted a decent size bid on one of our big players, yes I am talking Sissoko :cautious: :sneaky:

It will be a very sad day when it's confirmed but despite how shitty he has been over the last few weeks you can't begrudge him wanting to move

No it won’t be sad.

Fuck him and his lamppost of a brother. I don’t give a flying fuck about what he deserves. Didn’t turn up to a single final for us.

If this does go through I hope City never win anything again, get written up for FFP, and he flops. Or does his ankles again and never gets going for them. Seeing him in their shirt is gonna make me sick.

Yep at least with Bale we definitely knew way in advance and lined up our eggs accordingly.

As things stand the team to face City is honestly significantly worse than the team last season and the only first X1 player we've brought in is Romero. Need to do some serious business in the next week or so or this window will have been a disaster.

Looking at the state of things among some of the big leagues/teams on the continent, whatever we get for Kane now will go a lot further than whatever we might get for him in a year.

As long as one of the clauses is "£50m to be paid immediately after his first league appearance" we'll be fine.

I'm sorry and apologise for the confusing inference of my post. My point was how do you know that plans are not already well underway for the provision of striker cover should Kane leave ? I respect your viewpoint but what are your sources of such information ??
Imagine that behind the scenes a deal has already been struck. Levy asks that nothing is announced until after Sunday's game because negotiations are already at advanced stages for replacements(s) and we certainly don't want selling clubs to know of our future incoming windfall and also it would create a seriously unstable atmosphere if Spurs/City fans were aware of developments.

Surely it has to be announced etc before being registered? Even if the deal is done I can't see them announcing it today/tomorrow...surely not?!?!

I don't think so.
On deadline day, transfers need to be registered before a set time, but can be announced after.

You would registered the transfer to make it official before any announcements

Just felt like it was always coming and a matter of time tbh and can't say I'm surprised. I don't know, as soon as Paratici was announced, I started getting summer 2013 vibes when Baldini arrived and Bale left. Levy probably wanted a top operator in the transfer market to get the most out of the fee we will be getting.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons the situation with Conte broke down was him wanting guarantees Kane would not be sold but we couldn't do that knowing Kane's desire to go and the fact City are capable of coughing up the dough.

It would be better if we waited until after the game.

2-0 to us. We have two shots on goal vs Man Citys ten shots on goal. Then we tell them 200m or f*ck off.
