My assumption is it's not a misclick. Accidentally liking posts on insta doesn't tend to happen too often (from my experience anyway), plus I'm sure he'll have been tagged enough for him to now be aware of having liked it. Only thing I would say is that I guess there's a possibility he doesn't even run his insta account
he may have misinterpreted it.

Bale maybe, because of the good times he gave us and the fact he was young and spectacular.
Berbs has never been a legend, at least not to proper fans

Berba no not a legend IMHO however I thoroughly enjoyed when he was here and still one of the most sublime players to have been seen in our shirt in my lifetime.
Was I disappointed with how it ended? Yes! However after a time I hold no vitriol towards him for simple reasons;
  • He said pretty much from the outset he saw us as a stepping stone and he'd be looking to move after a couple of years (or his shitty agent did!)
  • The old red nosed bastard also basically said at the time we signed him "he wasn't prepared to take the gamble on him until he's proved himself in the league"
  • I do however still hold a lot of vitriol with the ORNB, Man U and the F.A for deadline day, we'd agreed a fee with city and UTD basically kidnapped him.
  • Was I pissed at DL at the time too? Damn right I was but only because if he'd pushed it UTD should've gotten points deducted for tapping up! If we'd have then let an unhappy player go to the club we'd agreed a fee with oddly I'd have been okay with that!
  • Yes we would've been without a striker (arguably by agreeing to take Frazier on loan we did anyway!) but we'd have made a stand and maybe set a precedent for tapping up our players. DL agreed to the pound notes rather than do the right thing and make them bleed for it.
  • Maybe we had some achievable bonus' clauses added into it that weren't made public; who knows (I wasn't on here then and I've no idea of the truth of Berba's behaviour (if it was his choice or he was poorly advised) or if anything else was in that deal that mean't we didn't get the F.A involved.
  • The last thing I'll add is for all UTD chased him I take satisfaction in that Fergie rarely played to his strengths anyway and I doubt UTD fans rate him as a legend. ORNB only wanted him so we couldn't have him!
With Harry it's quite simple do city want him at £200 million? If yes then pay up in cash in one lump (no exceptions, I don't want them not being able to give us full fee when the F.A/UEFA do finally grow a pair and then we miss out because of a financial penalty or their owners piss off!

If not I'm fine if Harry stays, he's still £120 odd million next season, there may be more clubs in a position to get a bit of a bidding war going and he's not cost us a transfer fee to begin with.
I don't want any City cast offs making up any part of a deal this summer no matter how good they may be; again why should we be doing city double/triple favours by taking their unwanted players off their hands in exchange they get our highest asset in terms of goals and assists!

Anyone wishing him away on a cut price deal just to be shot of him needs their heads given a little wobble, take a second, breathe and take emotion out of it and stop under valuing some of our players; we sell him at below that figure then what's the point?
These same people will then it spin around and say typical DL selling off our best players again!
To those saying City aren't a rival team well they're never likely to be if everyone buckles to them or what the likes of sky pundits etc say.

Again these total hypocrites moaning about the ESL being anti-competitive and a closed shop, well this basically amounts to the same bloody thing in all but name!
For me this is now beyond a transfer fee; this is do we carry on doing what we always do or do we as a club get over this weak arse mentality yump and say "eff you" we aren't in the business any longer of selling our best players especially to rivals in the same league!

I don't know what the whole truth is regard Harry's actions and until the truth emerges I'm leaving emotion at the door; does it sound like he's been ill advised from somewhere? Absolutely!
Do I think giving his family shit on social media is in anyway acceptable? Absolutely not!
Should Harry cop some stick? TBH I think a lot of these articles hurt him a lot more than abuse on social media do. I think a few home games he will absolutely realise he's handled it like a total toolbox.

Would the atmosphere stink for a bit if he stayed? Probably; up until he puts in about 10 goals or the window shuts with him still here!
Could he improve it by signing another deal (not even with a massive extension) with a different representative with a guaranteed release fee in that £120 mill ballpark with 2 years left I mentioned? I think most would be alright with that TBH At least everyone knows where they'd stand.

Also footballers happy to sign mega contracts yet jump ship if their side gets relegated/doesn't get top four/win the league; well I'm sorry but I'm a smite fed up with them forgetting that they play a vital part in hitting these targets, it doesn't all fall on a manager nor all fall on a chairman, there're four/three trophies up for grabs each season, someone will miss out that's the rules of the competition and the odds of the damn thing. Up until these financially doped teams are reigned in you're banking on a one in a million shot of someone busting up that monopoly. I guarantee you if Spurs got oil money owners tomorrow at breakfast, FFP would be enforced like a motherfucker by teatime!

BTW yes DL has made mistakes too but to put all of this in his lap I'm sorry but we agree to disagree. It's for another thread.

Just an opinion.

Sorry for the long post!

I do wonder why City thought they could low ball Kane off us for 100 million. I'm assuming they thought we were skint. Genuinely, that's all I can think of.
It’s a case of the self entitlement of the rich. They always believe they are entitled to what they want with them deciding the price.

Kane needs to go now as the dynamics of the relationship with the club, players and supporters has been irrevocably broken.

The club who have bent over backwards to ensure his every need with bumper contracts and bonuses have been totally disrespected by his antics to break that contract and manufacture a cut price move to a direct rival.

How are the players going to react with a self serving arrogant player placing himself above everybody else with his child like tantrums to get what he wanted. Teamwork is about all pulling together to create the greater good, Kane has pushed himself outside of that.

As for the supporters, the heartbeat and soul of any club and the ones that ultimately matter as they are the one constant in this beautiful game, will they be singing He’s one of our own’ anymore. I certainly won’t.

I just can’t see any of the trust and togetherness returning to what is was. In circumstances like this it takes a long time and the chances are he will be gone next year anyway.

I would take the money, even if it only got up to 120-130m which I am sure City will pay.

I wish people would stop saying £130 mill and Laporte or £160 mill. He shouldn’t be moving for less than a WR fee. Paid upfront.

He is a homegrown, would be in direct competition, has a WC golden boot. Along with a number of those in the PL. He is just coming into his prime and had his best season last year.

But I thought he doesn’t show up in big games, is injury prone, is losing his mobility and is a complete **** and the most unprofessional player in the league - how does that warrant a world record fee?….

Seeing reports City will go 130m this morning. Knowing this deal will eventually happen I'd take the 130 but have a he can't play v Us for first season clause. This is going to happen and 130m for a 28yr old is fantastic. If we dig heels in and keep a player who wants to leave, and being truthful isn't nudging over line for title/Cup win. We are are ultimately the losers, 130m and buy rebuild and move on.
If the 130m reports are true that is.

We won’t sell him for £130m, just not happening.

Probably not but we should. It's not ending with him in love with us again. He isn't going to be the 109%give everything player he was. Every month we keep him his value depreciates while we pay 200+k a week. City won't go 150 and deffo not more. The dye has been cast and the player we had has already left, take the money and move on.

Nah mate.190 is the wr. If we got 130 mil plus Laporte, or 160 mil, both paid in installments, that'll be fine.
If he wanted to stay then your sentiment is fine, but he wants to roll, keeping him here against his will is probably not the wisest move. I'm not saying give him away, but we have to be realistic.
Let's face it both of those offers are still fantastic deals, which could really propel us towards being a great team.
