Poor from a captain.

Yeah, he’s really shot himself in the foot with all this. He started out saying “My future will be sorted after the euros“ then invited a media circus by doing that Neville interview.

Can’t help but think his brother is stumbling around trying to play at being a super agent and failing dramatically.

Had a look on BlueMoon and saw one of those annoying things where some ignorant poster is spitting verbatim about something that's not true, e.g.

I'm sure people think that Amex are billing the club saying "your £1.2bn is due - please pay the minimum amount by September"
I mean, he is right on face value. We have to pay back some this year. As does every club in debt. Rough back of the napkin math assuming a 30 year period on the 1.2bn we apparently owe: we owe £40m/yr. Now some debts have shorter pay back periods, others might be longer. But i think i could be in the ballpark on that #

You're going to need a bigger napkin, and some basic maths skills.

I don't know what the interest rate is on the loan(s) - but even at a paltry 1%, that's £12m in interest payments alone each year - before you get to any principle payments.

I figured the £1.2bn was such a ridiculously large number it included interest already, albeit optimistically. But yeah, we will likely be paying out much more than £1.2bn when this is all paid back.

If the 100m is the starting point you would have to think that they would be willing to go further from there.
Levy wants 150m? They start at 100m? I say kane goes for 130m this summer.

He will then either go on to win all the trophies he ever wanted, or city will flop next year, pep leaves and they once again become a team of very good players but not extract everything and others (chelsea, pool, united) come into play.

There is a part of me that thinks he wont do aswell there as he should.

But i am more worried about the state of this club, lack of direction and who we are going to waste the money on.
Selling kane for 130m, deadwood for another 80m should see a very very good rebuild in the right hands.

For me we have to get 150m overall. Even then we also need 2 players in first, a number 10 and a number 9. We still don't have an Eriksen replacement so Kane has filled the void as well as score the goals. We're talking about a contribution equivalent De Bruyne and Sala in one player here.

No, damn them for being financially doped by a morally bankrupt dictator.

Also, not sure spending around a quarter of a billion on defenders over the last five years alone could be considered “sensible.“
Every super rich person is morally bankrupt. The difference is our owner isn’t bankrolling us.

And like I said, they’ve bought sensibly in general - high quality, high potential, and their record fee is around £65m - much lower than many other super rich clubs.

Man City are the same club who did not want to let us have Sancho (who hadn’t even made a single appearance for them at the time) during the Walker negotiations. We should not sell them Kane for a cent less than £150m.

We should not help them out by taking their deadwood. We should not lower the price because of covid. We should not allow this to go on all summer.

Set a price and a deadline and stick to it.

Why the fuck would any of the citeh players come to us, on probably half the money
We recently bought Ndombele and paid him £200k a week. Jesus is on £90k and Laporte is on £120k. Kane is on £200k so the deal is actually doable.

Still won't happen though.

I just don't see how we can get rid of him without having major plans in what our first 11 looks like without him in replacing him and his goals/assists. I cannot see how those plans could have been made without a manager in place and Paratici still getting his feet under the table.

I just don't see it happening this summer regardless of what City throw at us.

Made my peace along time ago with him going. Due to the shit show this club currently is.

As some one said above can’t see any of the city players linked wanting to come to us.

Think somewhere between £125 million -£150 million could possible do the deal.

Levy won’t though will he. He’ll bend over and sell him eventually. Probably to the detriment of the season.
