England captain Harry Kane is a major injury doubt for Sunday’s UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium.

The Tottenham striker was expected to lead the line for Gareth Southgate’s side at Wembley, but sources claim he is set to miss the game after sustaining what is understood to be a muscular injury.

Different sources are saying different things, but none of it sounds too bad at all and nearly all of them think he will be available for Wednesday. Hopefully Calvert Lewin bangs in 4 tomorrow and Harry stays benched come Wednesday - I want him fit for the Spammers

Apparently the club requested he returned back for treatment but Southgate refused. I hope this isn’t a serious injury and he is back for the West Ham game.

The injury can't be that bad if they're keeping him then.

Southgate wouldn't refuse a request for a member of our medical team to assess him, surely? Even out of courtesy.

The whole captain thing in Football is so overrated. The captain should be decided on a game by game basis, especially in international Football. In Cricket, it makes sense, the captain is more or less the manager of the team.

He wasn't injured, people making a mountain out of a molehill jusr because they fall for the tabloids stupid click bait...every time.

I don't think someone like Kane, who's suffered medium-term injuries for several seasons in a row, should be playing England friendlies (that's what the "Nations League" is). The fact he's supposedly fatigued should have been an additional warning of that

The majority of his injuries has been the result of freak accidents on his ankle, only once in his career has he suffered a strain which has kept him out for a long time and that was probably down to a result of overplaying over the years. He's played 4-5 months of football out of 9 this year so he's not anywhere near to being fatigued.

At the end of the day we have to face it that he's gonna play the majority of England matches because A) He's the captain and B) he wants to.

Mourinho, Klopp and others have been warning about the risk of muscle injuries due to the brutal playing schedule and we're told that Kane had a muscle scare in training, but that Southgate thinks "hopefully Harry will have more confidence [about the injury scare] going in to the Denmark game.

In my opinion it's not a gamble worth taking.

But I think you're right that Kane will play the majority of England matches
