Good. We have enough lightweight "what is my best position" skillful players thank you very much.

I haven't said "thank you very much" for ages.

very much

I'm actually rather glad he isn't coming to Spurs. He's a good player but his wages will be huge and he doesn't fill a desperate need.

Was announced last week on Talksport that it was 99% done deal for Man U, and was the same source that announced Owen to Man U.
Good player, but not the type of player we desperately in need of.

Players of his ilk don't make themselves available very often - and for a freebie too - so I'm gutted we didn't get him. He fits the profile we should be actively approaching.

Agreed. We will be very lucky if we are able to get a player of his ilk this summer. Very surprised that so many are against it.

Oh well, next on the list....David Silva:wink:

I think, and I know I will probably get bit of a pasting fr this, it is te inabiliy of many fan to correctly ascertain our level...tey know we have moved up a notch by qualifying for, an all of a sudden we are Real Madrid and Barcelona all rolled into one, an can mug-orf players of the quality of Joe Cole.

...I wouldnt say its a done deal yet. I think it might be another public show of affection from Harry as Joey speaks to Man United and Arsenal. I think Liverpool have offered him really good terms as well.

Harry has been talking to Joe for Months and months and I think he genuinely beleived he would get him, maybe now Cole has been selected for England and Harry cant conclude a deal for another 5 or 6 weeks, he is just a little bit anxious.

Either way, He IS a target, and if he doesn't sign we would then be looking at a plan B signing. It would be a blow!

Agreed. It really gets on my tits when people say "where would he play" or "what would this mean for Bale"

With Harry you never know, of course he could well be telling the truth but I'm always listening to what he says about transfers and never quite believe him. Joe Cole in a Spurs shirt soon is what I've just read into his statement.

Remember, Harry tells porkies. Not bad porkies but fibs never the less.

Is this comment about the player having done a deal elsewhere going to become this seasons version of, "I'm not aure where the chairman is up to with that deal, I've left it with Daniel."

I'm sure 9 times out of 10 the player in question was a Spurs player within a matter of days when he had mumbled those words.

Sad if we miss out. I always had my doubts about it being a Daniel Levy signing though. I'm not sure he would pay 80k + a week on a player with the injury record of Cole.

Despite some on here suggesting we don`t need him, it doesn`t surprise me that all the top clubs are in for Cole, he`s a quality player & available on a free transfer...if Man U are interested we were never going to get him for a number of reasons...

This is as ITK as it could possibly get as I was told by Harry that he is number 1 target this summer. He has been working on this for months. Harry always felt the only real stumbling block was Joe's desire to remain at Chelsea. Harry would be truely gutted if he signs elsewhere, especially Liverpool, where the rumour mill seems to have gone into overdrive.

I dont think its done yet but listening to what harry said he is clearly anxious and on this particular deal, Joe has known for a long time what our offer was and Harry was more then happy that it was a good offer, so I dont see it as being a cry to Levy to do something.

About £60k

Joe Cole is on £80k per week, Modric is now our highest player on about the same. I would be surprised if Daniel Levy paid the same to Joe Cole who is not only a few years older, but has a record of injuries.
