Oh, what a day that was, probably the best day of my football life.

If I could live any day of the life again it would be that, deep down I just didn't expect to win.

I'll never ever forget that day. Waking up in the morning, my brother and I having our traditional pre-game meal (fried vorst (salami) and eggs, burnt fried onions, tea) before heading for the tube station at Stanmore to go down to Wemberley...)

We were sitting at the other end, basically looking over Gazza's shoulder as the ball bent round onto Seaman's fingers and into the top corner.

people can say what they like about Ronaldo's free kicks, Roberto Carlos, whoever - none of them could have done it with those older-type balls. That freekick was pure perfection and the best amongst Gazza's many unbelievable bits of brilliance, for me.

The beginning of the end or, more accurately, the end of the beginning for one of Spurs' and England's true World Greats.

Ooh, I could carry on gushing for ages but best stop, eh?

Legend.
