I trust my eyes.@thinktank Given that Spurs fans on SC come from a wide cross section in terms of social status, experience and relative knowledge, whether season ticket holders, arm chair fans or overseas residents, dont you think that SC ratings and therefore their opinions are a reasonable representation of how the players perform? After all we are the fans!
I have my own opinion/s.
I certainly don't need to go into the SC ratings thread to find out what I think about a player's performance.
And, again, I don't think I'm in the minority with my view on Andros.
He may have had a few games where his one trick worked and his direct style of play caused the oppo some bother, but he soon got found out and I don't think he's got much more than that in him.
It's his mentality/attitude that is at the heart of my gripe with him. He's got the same mentality Defoe has and I don't think that will serve the type of team poch is trying to fashion.
Defoe never learned and neither will Andros imo - because he doesn't want to, he wants to play the way he wants to play and that's that. The way that brought him the nation's attention when he showed-out for England.
That performance has proved to be a black hole for him as he tries to recreate those moments of glory relentlessly, increasingly at the most inappropriate times.
If I'm wrong and he becomes amazing I'll gladly eat shit. Got nothing against any player bringing the magic to our club; just don't think it'll be Andros.
I'd rather we invest time and energy in ceballos, I think he has an all-round better game - and appreciation of the game - and a good idea what poch wants. That's just my hunch. What I'd like to see. Others disagree; fine.
I had a hunch that Paulinho wasn't total dog turd and would be useful at #10 or either side of the three. All I got from the "wide cross section in terms of social status, experience and relative knowledge, whether season ticket holders, arm chair fans or overseas residents" was abuse. So there you go.
I say what I think and stand by it because I have faith in the foundation of my opinions.
If they turn out to be dog turd then fine, and even better if the club benefits from them being wrong.
