My only question is, WTF are Defoe, Ade, and Sigurdsson doing just standing in a clump? Look how fucking narrow Southampton's defense can be, that makes Bale's goal even better tbh. On the other hand Holtby makes a good run that gives Bale just enough space to score.

As soon as I saw that I got really pissed off though, are our players really so fucking brainless? Can anyone explain the positioning here?

Another point - Holtby's got the movement spot on here. If Bale chose not to shoot he could have played a pass through to Holtby who would have been unmarked in the box. But Sigurdsson should be so much wider idk wtf he is doing, you can't have an inverted winger cutting inside and not have width out on the other side FFS. That's basic football, what is wrong with our team!?

I agree. He's not had the greatest time for us yet but Holtby is clearly one of the most intelligent footballers in our squad. I still honestly believe he'll be an integral part of our team next season.

Totally agree, its a MAJOR part of our problem atm - plus when it goes in they look like they couldn't give a shit..

I always watch players reactions when we score a goal on replays, it's always important to me for some reason. Ade rarely celebrates any this season, and in this .gif he clearly doesn't care that much either. Defoe is the same way when others score for some reason.

I always remember watching Modric on replays when Spurs scored, he jumped so high I thought he was Steffen Freund.

Yea I do the same, Sandro's another that reacts with clear joy after a goal.
