Hmm, "not at the moment"...

That suggests to me that Wijnaldum could well be on 'the list' but, perhaps, we have alternative targets & interest in Wijnaldum could be firmed up if those alternative targets don't come to fruition?

I read it as we are signing Boufal.

No, so why care how much is paid for him?

Season tickets, match day tickets, club merchandise etc..?

You spend too much money and you'll find that you'll have consequences in other areas, everything needs to have a limit.

Because it directly impacts how much we can spend elsewhere on players I believe are better/more needed.

We aren't Man City, we need to be pragmatic with money.
How do you know we won't spend 15 mill instead for an inferior player and leave it there? I just want good players and he's one of them

I think a season loan deal would work well for both clubs. Wijnaldum would be great option on the left midfield and attacking midfield for spurs. Great depth for champions league, proven epl player.

Newcastle would accept a one year loan because they would back themselves to bounce straight back up after 1 year in championship. Especially with Benetez as full time manager. He can then re join the toon after 1 year.

He aint costing 25m...guy just moved for 14.5, granted the relegation team wont be in dire shape financially but there's no way they make a large profit on him. They have 0 leverage in negotiations.

Guys its not your money so it doesn't matter how much he costs , its not coming out of your/our pocket , so all this "im not happy if its £25mil etc is just pure bollocks. Personally I rate the guy he was a stand out player in a piss poor team , reminds me of Dembele the way he dribbles past opponents but is more agile in style , plus he has a good eye for goal , iirc he scored and played v well vrs us last game of the season. Also historically we haven't done bad with the previous Newcastle players we've signed : Gazza, Ginola , Waddle and Kevin Scott

Newcastle quoting £25m is a standard FM tactic, a club is interested in your player so you call their bluff by asking for an absurd price, 95% the interested team goes away.

We should go away.

A player you know I have been chatting about for a long time now. It is overprice now. I still want him at Spurs, though.

Don't watch enough of Newcastle's games/highlights to know this, but is he a VDV esque No10/WF or more AM?
I think we need someone with decent (or better) pace who can actually take players on, skillful dribbler. Is that Wijnaldum? I think Yunus Malli is the other feasible option based on media (albeit older stuff now).

Another player on the all-knowing Geordies shit list, Sissoko just put in a big performance in probably the biggest game of his career, maybe we just have to accept Newcastle was an absolute clusterfuck last season and Wijnaldum is actually more like the player from PSV that was highly regarded.

Should only get involved at £15m or less though...

Yunus Malli could be another Payet in essence. Very good player.

Media links seem to have gone quiet on Malli. Not so much in the way of ITK either. Shame, seemed to have decent technique and workrate, good movement off the ball, and Bundesliga seems a decent shopping ground.

Sure I Saw he had a relatively low release clause too???
