Apropros of nothing, I really don't see who Real Madrid could sign - and it feels to me like they really need to make a significant signing to pep up their attack - better than Hazard right now.

Fellaini is link with a move away from United... Either now or in the summer...

I wonder how much will West Ham spend on him. :ROFLMAO:

hope he doesn't go there....he is an effective player and in their cup final twice a season would make our lives tougher

Isn't he out of contract in the summer?
Thought he was trying to sort out a freebie move abroad for the summer, seeing as that's as close to Russia as he's going to get.

Walcott now is the same player as when Arsenal signed him. Still runs, still messes up at the crucial moment, in the 12 (?) years at Arsenal I don't think he's got better at anything. Big contract, no desire to improve, and now they might want rid of him he has to face reality.. wonder if he'll bomb at wherever he goes and slide down the leagues quickly before retiring at 30-31.

Agree. It's amazing how so many of their fans, and even some people in the media, STILL hype him up and talk about him like he's a great player even though he's been nothing but average for his whole career.

I can't help but feel that he was never actually that good, even when he was really young at Southampton. It seems to me like more a case of his ridiculous pace making him look a lot better than he was i.e. academy-level/lower league defenders couldn't cope with his pace, but once he was mixing it with the big boys he found that they knew how to nullify that aspect of his game and he doesn't really have anything else in his locker. Things like finishing, crossing, beating a man etc. he's bang average at best, if not bellow average in some areas.

The guy was a multi-millionaire at the age of about 18-19 and as you say hasn't improved an ounce since then, he clearly doesn't really care about football. As far as he's concerned, he will do as little work as possible to collect the biggest paycheck possible, even if he never kicks a ball again. No ambition, but fair play if that's how he wants to live his life.

Interesting to see the talk on Smolov to Everton or West Ham..

I will probably get bashed for this, but he is apparently available for £14m, peanuts in the current climate, especially in January. The guy has 48 goals in 62 games for Krasnodar and is the National Captain too, only 27 so coming towards his peak...

He is 6ft2 and very quick (about as fast as Sonny from what I’ve seen of him), strong too, and he can play as a lone striker, but can also play as a wide forward too or a winger?

Is he a “World Class Talent” probably not no. But if we sold Llorente for £10m and signed Smolov for £15m, I think that would be good business. We need a backup striker who is comfortable playing other positions too, such as Son. Smolov is also fluent In English, could just give us an edge as we push for the CL

Worth a skim through (you get like 5 replays a goal) he is very capable of scoring all sorts of goals! Compilations can be misleading but I think he looks a good talent!
