Poster on Saintsweb has heard the following:

"Shane Long is off to West Ham. Bertrand is off to Man City. VVD is off to Chelsea. Good source."

If there's any truth in that, then two things occur.

Firstly, if the West Ham rumour is true, then the last three players they'll have bought will be 29, 33 and 30. Interesting transfer strategy. And by interesting, I mean shite.

Secondly, if Bertrand goes to Man City, then (a) they're not after Danny Rose and (b) we can call him 'Plastic' Bertrand.

Ca plane pour moi, as they say in Belgium.

I love JD as much as the next Yid, but fuck me that contract is ridiculous. Fair play to Bournemouth though if they think it'll pay off.

No surprise, Teilemans having medical at Monaco apparently (SSN). Good move for both parties IMO. I know @thinktank had a hard on for him for a while, and I'm not saying he's wrong, Ive not been as convinced, but that maybe because I haven't seen him as much, but it's going to be interesting seeing if he develops and if anywhere will help that, Monaco is the perfect incubator.

Personally, if we ere going to bring in a CM, he is the perfect fit for us. He plays the ball forward very quickly, often on the turn, nits passes together well, he is good in defence (his reading of the game is superb for his age), so much so, that I would be fine with him and Winks playing together in CM. He is also great at playing when under pressure/pressed, as he has composure, a great first touch and close control.

To add to that, when he plays further forward he is quite creative and has good vision, so could could also be an Eriksen back up and on top of all of this, he has a good delivery at set pieces.

I think that when most people watch him play, it has been against teams that Anderlecht have to be defensive against and due to his hype, people look for him doing something spectacular but a lot of what he does goes unnoticed (like Eriksen at times).

I can't comment on the Utd games, as I didn't see them, but watch the games he played v us last season (I think his individual performances for those games are on youtube if you can't be bothered watching the whole game) and see how many of their attacks start with him.

I think that's probably a fair comment, and pretty much does sum up where I'm at with him. I'm not saying I disagree with anyone who rates him, I don't, I'm pretty much saying you are bang on in that I've either see him look good on Youtube or not shine quite so much in tough European games against strong opposition. So I'm unable to say I have a rock solid opinion. I'll say that he has good qualities, I've picked that up even from the tough games, he doesn't hide, gets on the ball, has good dynamism, makes good choices under pressure generally, and the fact that he's showing them at his age suggests a maturity in his football brain and temperament beyond his years, a very good sign.

I would also add, that the fact on the big games he has got his head down and done the simple things to help his team rather than using the stage to show off what he can do at the expense of his team, shows a massive amount of maturity and decision making skills too.

I'd have sooner had Tielemans than Barkley.

Yeah, I think I would too, because I at least I can see potential there and it's a position that's a priority for me more than Barkley's would be. I'd rather Edwards got time as an AM than we spent 25m on Barkley.

I would still rather Tolisso or Keita for the 8 though.

Pleaty dropped a bit of ITK while co-commentating last night...said that De Gea is off to Madrid (no surprise there) but also said United will be getting a CF and a CB from Madrid...no swapsies, separate deals, he also called Daley Blind Danny all night which was funny.
