Probably talking about Ceballos and he isn't strictly a DM, he's not gonna win the ball back for them, he can play though.

Controversial I wouldn't have minded him here if he was willing to take a pay cut

I think the fact Liverpool, who don’t actually have an abundance of attackers beating their front three, were willing to let him go and not even bother to replace him is a reason not to take him.

No other team in England fancied him either. There’s got to be a reason for that. Teams like Palace or Arsenal could have afforded him if they thought he had anything to offer bar being injured. Even West Ham weren’t linked to him!

You know your career is finished in this country when even West Ham aren’t interested.

When your injury record even scares them off, you know you're broken.

Klopp spoke very highly of his dressing room influence and good behaviour so he doesn't seem like a bad boy, just absolutely ruined by injury.

They do have a lot of attackers for their front three
Mane -- Firmino -- Salah
Oxlade-Chamberlain -- Origi -- Shaqiri
I feel like one of the reasons he hasn't been taken on is because he still thinks he is a first choice striker whilst in reality he is someone who would be perfect as a bench option/back up with no chance of being 1st choice due to his fitness problem

If you're are losing 2-1 he is someone you would want to bring on in the last 10 mins

Also his £100k a week wage demands were probably a factor in not giving him a new contract.

Weren't Holtby captain of HSV?

There are quite a few players on that list that seem to have lost their way when they got into their early 30s.

I guess injuries take their toll and teh appetite to succeed diminishes.

Imagine if Harry took over a club right now, he would literally sign all of those players.

It would be facinating to see how well a squad comprising of freebies would do in the PL, or Championship

I guess the issue is (i) age and (ii) bringing 20 odd players together for the first time and excepting them to gel.

Yeah but that’s the whole problem. He’s not even on the bench for you to put on in that situation because he’s in the infirmary.

If you’re bringing in squad players the number one priority for them should be availability.

It’s the reason why I could justify us selling Lamela. I absolutely love the bloke and all the passion and desire he brings and while I don’t necessarily always want him in the starting XI he is a great squad option to have. That said the last few seasons he’s almost never available and it’s hard to justify keeping him at this rate.

That looks like a squad we were hoping to put together about 10 years ago.
