Hi guys,
Sorry for my raw english, but i'm portuguese and live currently in Portugal.
Regarding Gédson, what is being said among the portuguese football community is that Benfica made another huge deal once the player never was a firsk pick for the lineup, and never showed (in portuguese league - that places 6 or 7 in europe in terms of quality) the potential that a 65M€ deal option pretends to present.
If you want a middlefielder for quite the same value (around 70/75M€): why don't go for Bruno Fernandes (League MVP for the last 2 seasons).
Just look to João Felix (At Madrid): it was sold by 120M and is struggling to show anything close to this value.
As a huge fan of Spurs (my favourite team in England) hope that Levy wont pay for this guy. This is another deal made by Mourinho and Mendes (his agent) that will be another flop.
Welcome to the site, and thanks for the info. I think in Portugal a lot of onus is being put on the fee, however the reality is the price for a 18 month loan is incredibly low and we are short of players in midfield. I don't think Levy has any intention of paying the option fee unless the guy becomes a key player, and even then he'd no doubt try and negotiate this down. He has done it before.
For us, we are getting a promising young player for 18 months for just 5m Euro and I'd imagine pretty low wages by PL standards.
