Met Bale at open training when the club was in SA for pre-season. Found him to be quite shy actually. Asked him if I could get a pic together and said sure, but it would cost me. So I joked and asked "how much?". He replied: "About tree-fitty." Well, it was about that time that I noticed Bale was about eight stories tall and was a crustacean from the protozoic era.

I hope you didn’t give him a dollar. If you give him a dollar he’s going to assume you’ve got more!

Bale met me once. He was quite shy and respectful as he asked for a photo, so I couldn’t say no.

Not strictly related to Bale...or Spurs.....but I once carol sung for Pat Nevin. He came out with a glass of brandy in his hand to listen to us sing. He was a top bloke.

I also met Sol Campbell once...

Any good?

So...

Real's spending commitments, according to reports, for Hazard, Jovic and Militao comes in a little over £190m, and they're expected to bring even more new faces in over the course of the transfer window. They've surely got to be looking for a way to move Bale out. I'm not saying that's going to involve Spurs, necessarily, but I would be hugely surprised if he's not moved on somehow.

A deadline busting deal, a la VDV, would do nicely.

In other news, I've met quite a few footballers, all of them at Greenock Morton, so there's a chance some of my fellow forum users won't know of them... They've also been playing in a red tartan away kit the past two seasons that was designed by yours truly, now being replaced by a more traditional yellow and blue kit, again designed by me. Ex Spurs youth player Kudus Oyenuga sadly left the club before having an opportunity to pull on one of my kits.

Neither can they . They have spent over 200 million so far on 3new players if Hazard goes there. To stay within FFP rules they must dispose of a whole host of players if they want to buy more.
Bale is costing them over 33 million pa, they dont want him they must get rid of him for almost any price. If they truly want CE and if we want Bale there must be a deal there that suits both sides.
I don't think Madrid like United, Barca and Bayern will ever have issues with FFP due to their vast earnings from worldwide commercial activity. Don't think Madrid spent much last summer and got £100 million for Ronaldo

I met Ray Clemence once. He was a dick so I asked if he could get me Peter Shilton's autograph.

I cabbed him once, he wasn’t even on the original booking. He jumped in with some friends which made it awkward as the original booking was for 4 people, so was a little awkward as I only had a 5 seater. Clemente sat the smallest women on his lap in the front seat of all places.

He gave me £50 and told me to take everybody home after dropping him off in Broxbourne

Ha! I used to work as a tyre fitter right outside the ground and sold him a new set of tyres then fucked up fitting them (when we first signed him of course) Then we had a few more players but they wouldn't let me near them. I lasted about a month before I was given the Spanish archer.

Tyre fitter eh? That would explain your ‘fascination’ for rubber!
