Marca seem to be pinning their hopes on an almighty strop from Gareth

"The pressure Bale applies will prove crucial to determining the outcome of this case. The player has been adamant to Villas Boas and Daniel Levy in repeatedly expressing his desire to sign for Real Madrid. So much so that the Welshman hasn't played a single game for Tottenham in the pre-season on account of a supposed injury no one gives credit to.
Not even at Tottenham, let alone at Real Madrid. This pressure will finally make Levy accept the fact, knowing that the only option is to sell his star player, although he will make Bale sweat right up till last day of the transfer window."

I am actually kind of interested in the RM method of paying for players. Can we bid 160 mil for Messi and pay for it over 8 years? His shirt sales and endorsements if he come to EPL will pay for it in 2 years tops.

I'm always confused by people who answer in the positive but shake their head in the negative...

Interesting, didn't notice that at first. I think I heard a body language expert say before that if someone does that it may mean they aren't speaking the truth, but perhaps it's just something she does regularly.

Only thing I disagree with his Neville saying we have the 5th best squad on paper, In think with our new signings that we have a squad much better than the scums and on par with any of the other top 3.

agree but I thought this last year as well ....... we have more talent and more depth but we need to learn to
turn that into hard faced ruthlessness which is where I do agree with Neville 'we threw it away last year'

I also took issue with the suggestion that no-one had gone out and snapped up talent, as Soldado, Paulinho and Chadli are all great signings who will add a lot of goals to our side.

I'd be quite stunned if he did kick up a fuss, beyond a bit of sulking. That would be absolute poison to his image and brand and would hurt him in the long-term. If that's their hope, it's a forlorn one.

Surely there has to be a point where we can report Marca for consistently trying to get Bale to go on strike. It is getting beyond a joke.

I always believed the whole "shirt sales financing players" line until I watched something on television about Ronaldo & his shirt sales financing his purchase. It simply is not true, no player has generated their purchase costs through shirt sales.

As marketing rights go may that may be a different story, but not by pure shirt sales

Seem to recall him playing and scoring against Swindon, they really are a bunch of wankers.

I have got it!!!

Lets us set up a Moody Publication, and offer all the staff at Marca jobs with us at twice the salary, and if Marca won't let then all go they should go on strike!!

Simples!

I thought it was common knowledge that Beckham did when he went to Madrid, naturally for a lot less than Ronaldo did.

Yep Beckham almost certainly did, in fact I think there is an article about it somewhere from the Financial times or the like.

Its time we made a statement like Liverpool have done with Suarez. We won't though as we are clearly prepared to sell if the price is right.

It's time to make a move either to let him go, or announce he is staying.

Targets are being snapped up, Lemala has gone to Arsenal (well at least I think I read that last night somewhere...).. we need to act quickly, not late in the window.

Or it could be a £100 million sale on the last day, with DOnwing coming in as a replacement for £5mill on deadline day.. ;-)

Balague is saying on Twitter that we want 120 million plus Jesse or Morata. Says that Madrid can't find the cash and neither player wants to move......

Game over man, game over....

I think this has now got to the point that we have to draw a line in the sand and say no. We are getting ominously close to the start of the season and the close of the window without any resolution in sight. So surely we now have to say to Real, you have had your chance to match our valuation, do one for a year.

It is not even worth parting with Bale for a 150 million, if we have no time to replace him.

Agree - I haven't seen that. Only thing I've seen is that Gervinho plays similar position and has just signed for Roma. No mention of Lamela going the other way.

Was thinking the same about the club following Liverpools stance on Suarez, however they made similar comments about Torres and then sold him to Chelsea a month later so wouldn't read too much into them.
