It would be nice but I can't see it happening untill Bale agrees a new deal (if he does at all). If his agent is negotiating with Levy and Bale says in the press that he's staying, his agent will lose some of his advantage. It's only a thought, the club might not be as bothered by this saga as the fans.

I know a lot of people are worried about Bale leaving and concerned that he hasn't signed a new contract with us yet. However I was thinking about all the ITK early on saying that Bale's contract was agreed, and has anyone considered that perhaps the contract is agreed in principle, but that as part of our agreement with him, we have to prove our ambition by bringing in top quality players before he signs? This could explain why we seem to be aiming high and breaking the bank, and also why we have yet to see him sign a new contract yet. It would be interesting to see if news breaks about Bale signing a new contract soon after Soldado signs, or perhaps even after another big name signing.

Not so much. Firstly because he cant simply just say 'I am not leaving' because if he leaves next season (likely if we dont get CL) then he is considered and worried that he is considered a Judas or scum (he has respect for us fans). Secondly, if he was to say something akin to 'I am not leaving' he will also have to follow it up (bearing in mind my first point) with 'not this season' which will bring about attention from media and everyone and us fans etc.

Its not as cut and dried as people think to simply say 'i am not leaving'

Hate to lose Bale, and hope he stays and think he will at least for one more season.
But, what of we sold Bale and we were able to get Soldado, Bernard, Damiao, McCarthy and Coentrao in, would that kind of make up for it?
