Well made up for him. Hope he stays and ends up becoming one of their most important players (which I think he is anyway). Clearly been treated harshly thanks to the Ronaldo influence.

I think its unfair that Bale is under Ronaldo's shadow... as Ronaldo is little more than an uber goal poacher these days, who requires a team of world beaters to enable him. Whereas Bale is a consumate footballer... creates, runs, scores, enabler and enabled.

Look at Ronnie playing for Portugal. He knows he's in a team of players shitter than him so he doesn't make that much effort... unlike Bale for Wales who is just another hard working player in an already hard working team.

Without bias, I know who I'd choose to have in my team.

I see you point but if he was not a top class player you would not 1) have had those "galacticos" running around serving you "tap ins", 2) he simply would not have scored nowwhere near as many goals.
Whether we like it or not, Ronaldo is, has been - together with Messi - the best footballer for the last 6-7 years. And arguably amongst the all time greats. And he is still better than Bale. Yet I'd much rather have Bale at Spurs than Ronaldo (although that would neve be a realistic choice anyway for the next few years).

I think Rafa sacked himself. His style just doesnt suit Madrid and anyone that watches football knew Rafa would be out the door before long.

It remains to be seen how long Ronaldo will be at the club for.

How often had they scored 8 and 10 in the same half a season before Rafa?

Makes me bust up that they get the hump with that.

La Liga teams don't set up to defend like PL teams do, because goal difference doesn't mean squat. Head to head records count first if teams are equal on points. Makes it easy for Real and Barca to steamroll opponents who come out to play and don't bother shutting up shop if it's 0-2 or 0-3.

They scored 8 in a champions league game, albeit a rubbish team.
Regardless as to why teams conceded that amount of goals, it hadn't happened that often in that space of time for as I remember.
I think he was just disliked from the get go and they just can't accept that Barcelona are a much better team and better run club.

This is all undoubtedly completely true. Also, Ancelotti was very popular with the players. The new manager was never going to be as popular and was always going to have a much tougher time.

When Madrid score and celebrate, everyone completely ignores Bale. I get the feeling he isn't too popular.

Odd, isn't it? Ronaldo arrived at Madrid in 2009, but they didn't win another Champions League until Bale joined.

@coys200 put a "Top 50 Scorers of 2018" list in another thread and Bale was the only Real Madrid player on there (although obviously Ronaldo was in there and spent the first half of the year in Madrid). It was nice to see that he is now their main man.

... But he's out again (His nickname is glass in Spain) & Real Madrid lost 2-0 at home. The ground was half empty before full time.
