Forward needs games for rhythm but has looked too fragile and one-paced to merit them and Mourinho’s barbs are multiplying

Odd that they stress there is absolutely no option for another year.
When he was loaned, the thinking was that a second year was more than a possibility - we just had to ask.

IF Bale does start finding his magic - lets say he scores the winner in the league and europa cups - then another loan is in everyone's interest.

From Jose’s press conference after Wednesday’s game; ”He had a scan, the scan didn't show an injury but his feelings were still there and coaches, sports science and medical people, we can never go against feelings because the player's feelings are much more important than all of us.”

Does he need toughening up again, like when ‘Arry stopped the coaches pandering to him?

I reckon pulling his hair a few times and nickin' his Welsh cakes should do it.

Probably more to do with his contract situation at Madrid. Next season he’ll be in his last year and could leave them on a free (securing himself a big money contract in US or China).

Would imagine that Madrid were hoping for a short term loan to us that builds his profile and allows them to sell him and recoup some much needed €€€. There’s no value in Madrid allowing him to spend another season with us running down his contract

Let's face it, he's always been a whimp. I used to frequently comment on his liking for lying on the pitch in the foetal position and I don't think he has any sort of threshold for pain or even discomfort.
