Think so. Was enjoying my holiday in Cyprus watching the game in the hotel. Ruined that day for me.

I would be surprised if one not two teams now go on and manage to get about 2.5 points per game and just simply won't stop. End of season always is a bit unusual and crazy.
I'd be shocked if any of the three of them did, United and City are in crap form and have been so beatable for the last few months and West Ham only win when Payet plays well. At no point in our season so far have we taken 20 points from 24, not even when we won six in a row. Its an enormous ask and none of them look remotely up for it.

68 points wouldn't take us to the CL.

But don't even want to think about an horror april like that.
68 still might do it. United and West Ham could lose no more than 2 games during the rest of the run in to hit 68 and cross that line.

I'd be willing to bet that 5th place ends up with less than 68.

Not that it matters as I fully expect us to be well beyond that by seasons end anyway.

So tying Liverpool improves us by another point year over year, I'm optimistic that we'll pick up some more in the next 3 games and hopefully an outside chance of keeping within striking distance of Leicester, been a great season!

We usually get one of these going each season, hadn't seen one yet, so here we go...

We compare the match this season with the same match from last season, replacing the relegated clubs with the promoted clubs. Shows us how we're comparing to the same games last season.

Key: Fixture, result last season, result this season, point difference.

I'll endeavour to keep this up to date.

If you add in Liverpool we are still only 5 points better off than last year. That's one win and two draws better. Weird how it feels like so much more. I guess that's because we've lost fewer games, conceded fewer goals and won by bigger margins doing it and all the big boys have had fucktardial seasons too.

Think that's because our season started slowly with a loss and 3 draws, but our results since then have been 17 wins, 8 draws and 3 losses whilst our goalscoring has been great and defending miserly.

So since the end of August our results and general form have been pretty damn good (circa 60% win rate), and we've forgotten the gloom of last August.

If we Could somehow get 9 from the next 3 I think we will have closed the gap to maybe 3-4 points. And then it will be a damn nervous Leicester team!

It sounds unlikely to win all our remaining matches, but at the end of the season things change a bit: some teams doesn't show up cause They have nothing to play for, there are fewer games each week - meaning we can go full strength each game, etc.

Also, winning breeds winning. Win the next game, and we are more likely to beat Stoke.

Think that gets us up to +7 points now, with a projected 71 points if games follow the same pattern as last season's games.

But hopefully we can pick up many ,more points in the next 3 games, and match the last 2 results.

Stoke (a) – L
West Brom (h) – L
Chelsea (a) – L
Southampton (h) – W
Newcastle (a) – W

....and our GD of +35 might even improve by the end of te season which would be awesome. Currently 9 better than any other team, with 60 goals scored (the most of any club) and least conceded at 25 goals.

4-0 away at Stoke takes us into double figures, +10 points now with a projected 74 points if games follow the same results as last season.

Still room for improvement in the next 2 games though !

West Brom (h) – L
Chelsea (a) – L
Southampton (h) – W
Newcastle (a) – W

And just look at that goal difference, +39 after 34 games........and 11 better than any other PL team.

Draws against WBA and Chelsea might not have been what we wanted, but it did make up a further 2 points on last season.

So +12 points up on last season with a projected + 76 points if we match last season's 2 wins in the last 2 games

Southampton (h) – W
Newcastle (a) – W

and a very good chance of bettering our best ever PL points total
