he shouldn't really be playing, he should be building up his fitness slowly but other circumstances mean we have no choice

he was very poor from kick off so i cannot see how fatigue set in before the match even started! poor excuse for a poor performance but he was hardly the only one who had a poor 1st half

His defending for the fourth goal was gob smackingly bad.

He stepped up on Eto for no reason giving him a clean run through on goal

I had no idea when we signed this bloke that his fitness was going to such an issue. I thought it was his ability that was in question. I'm not pissed off with him, it's not the Arsenal thing but I'm asking myself what the bloody hell Redknapp wanted a third geriatric of a cb on our books for.

When we signed him, he had no pre-season, and at the age of 33 his fitness was always going to be an issue. I think Harry wanted him to be part of the 'squad', with Bassong and Kaboul both pretty young for defenders he wanted them to learn from him, and for him to try and install his winning mentality. I don't believe for one minute he wanted him to be first choice this side of Christmas with the lack of preparation he had, and now due to Dawson, King and Kaboul having been injured, we have suffered since.

When we signed him, I felt Harry would play him ahead of everybody but King. We have seen him get the nod ahead of Bassong more than once already.

I know he injured himself a couple of weeks back but it is almost the end of October and I would expect him to be up to speed. However, two games in four days is a problem for him, apparently, and I'm not happy about it.

Maybe I'm showing my age but I don't think 33 is old for a CB. Look at the job Naybet did when he came in.

He has had more than enough time to get in shape to be fair. You played badly Willy G. Be man enough to come out and admit it

Edit: actually maybe I'm being unfair I forgot about the injury

It's fair enough, he's been playing for the last 15 years and the last 8 for France. He has only had every other summer off for the last few years and he hasn't had a pre-season. If Dawson was fit, I doubt we'd have seen much of him until he was ready, but the circumstances haven't been ideal. I'd rather him in than Caulker, because if Caulker was suffering a bad run of form and costing us goals, it'd be hard to come back from and a real waste of a huge talent.

I don't know about being burnt out but he's probably not fully match fit yet. So far he's only played four games and started with Kaboul, King and Bassong partnering him. Theres been no consistency for him so he's had no real chance to settle into the team yet so lets give him a few more games before we get on his back.

Gallas is still a world class defender no mistake about that...when fully fit and intergated he up there. Second half against Inter was better we basically had Three defenders...Gallas Bassong Ekotto.
