You would think but they're not, well at least a large proportion aren't. They really think Arteta is the messiah. Its fucking mad. TBH I think he’ll end up at Arsenal. They are offering him a role as their starting no 9 and will no doubt pay the fee and wages necessary.

Also I am not sure he is as a massive priority for us, than he is for them.

Chelsea are somewhat unknown due to new ownership, are they going to make a splash or cautiously take stock of what they have? I do believe this takeover brings them closer to us but the last 15 years they've attracted players with a higher reputation consistently and gazumped us on major deals.

If he is number 1 on their list but 3rd or 4th on ours and we seemingly don't have a clear number 1 ourselves for the attacking position then it only increases the reasons we should sign him and pushes him to our number 1 target in my mind. Weakening your opposition whilst strengthening your own squad is something really overlooked in all transfers by the media and fans. Definitely should come into the calculation with all high performing football clubs.


I agree Jesus seems to want first team football and knows Arteta so maybe that is too big a hurdle to overcome. Conte is a much bigger draw than Arteta but Jesus might have built a lot of trust in Arteta when they worked together at City.
