I am still hopeful a deal can be done. This would be a perfect addition to the squad and backup for Kane.

He's not ready to be a back up to a team in the Prem going for the title. He's nowhere near ready to play yet

If we really want him and he wants to come, largely to sit on the bench, then I think it'll happen in this window. Fulham will basically lose him for free in the summer so from their point of view a 2m fee today is better than nothing later on. Yes they want him between now and the end of the season but we want a spare striker in that period too. Maybe we can sweeten the deal by offering Winks or someone else on loan. Unless another premier league team wants to buy and loan back the deal is there to be done. Is he good enough to cover Kane? That's the question.

This all sounds like well established info that shouldn't be surprising. I hope we have something more concrete planned than a flyer on him and Berahino

No quotes from Fulham personal in that article, seems to be just conjecture.

If, as popular opinion suggests, he's not ready for the EPL, then it would make sense to get a pre-contract in place and sign him up in the summer. In the meantime, we still need cover up front. Can't really blame Fulham for this one with the situation they're in.

How can you be so sure though. He could thrive in this young team. Who would have thought Dele Alli would be ready?

If he's the player Poch wants now, we need to buy a replacement for Fulham and loan him to them for the rest of the season - with a clause that they buy in the summer, when their transfer embargo is lifted.

If we want him but not now, either do the deal and loan him back, or get him to sign a pre-contract to buy in the summer.
