We did the same. Our players ignored it. Hence the fines

The rumour was that they wouldn't play the last game same as the Villa pair so they would be back in time for Chelsea , obviously don't believe rumours. Personally not bothered about Lo Celso or Romero but we could do with Sanchez back against Chelsea.

Absolutely not surprised to somehow see Ndombele getting slated in this thread when once again Lo Celso is at the center of a shit show. This will be the second time he's broken protocol and the second time he will be fined.

I am calling out Ndombele because he wants to leave - which Nuno said. I will keep calling him out in any thread, till he shows he wants to play for us. And I will keep defending the players like Lo Celso, who put Tottenham above his injury recovery when Kane-Son-Bergwijn were injured all at same time....that lack of injury recovery affected his further involvement.

I see a false anger being directed to players like Lo Celso & Romero , yet Sanchez is being let go.
All 3 players were announced by Argentina & Colombia FA on August month (Argentina announcement for 3 games was on 23Aug, almost 2 weeks back). So, just because there was a farce displayed at Brazil, this issue is being bigged up by some.

The 2 ARG players arent even starters for us yet in PL. So I am fine if they take few more days to finish their countrys bidding. All I want is them integrated and hope that they themselves will any reject October call

Sanchez has already been released to train in croatia. Think cos he was on a yellow. He will be back in time for chelsea

Some more players who didn't go..

This whole farce will end up in the courts.

FIFA cannot be the arbiter of what is essentially a dispute between the Clubs and FIFA.

They need to have their wings clipped and recognise that it is the clubs, and essentially the fans of those clubs, who finance the game.

FIFA makes their revenues off of players they don't pay for, and are causing clubs financial damages by trying to protect their gravy train.

That is why their decisions making in all this has nothing to do with common sense or player welfare.

They would have players miss 90% of their club season so long as it didn't impact on themselves in anyway.

Disgraceful.

It's absolutely ridiculous that you feel the need to bring up the Ndombele stuff in other threads, the idea that you'll "keep calling him out in any thread" is pathetic. He has a thread, go do it in there, the person that got you on Ndombele tirade only brought him up as it relates to the importance of his involvement with Lo Celso in this situation, absolutely no need for your complaints about Tanguy in here.

The only reason Sanchez isn't being mentioned is there's zero information regarding his situation, the argentine coach has put the microscope on the argentine players, that's why they're being mentioned. If it came out that Sanchez is going to play that 3rd game, then he will be under scrutiny also.

Edit and @Bluto Blutarsky has the info as to why there's no heat on Sanchez

Sanchez has already been released from Colombia - he was suspended for the final match.

The reason for the furore is this final game. I've posted a tweet which indicates, they're trying to sort the mess out themselves and based on that new info credit to them.

Problem is sporting disputes go to CAS , La Liga already lost recently

It’s Nuno who I feel sorry for in all of this.
He had the Kane situation hampering pre season and the first couple of games of the season, and now this farce.
Poor guy Just needs a break and a settled team!

is there any space to suggest that while none of the affiliated parties are coming out of this smelling like roses:

  1. The Argentina FA genuinely believed there would be an exemption for elite athletes.
  2. The players felt they had to choose between their international careers and their current starting places at Spurs, and felt they were choosing the path with the fewest long term consequences.
  3. The Brazilian authorities genuinely did not expect Argentina to select the players once they had instructed them not to.
no?

As you were then…

Brazilian players from PL teams didn't go what is Lo Celso's & Romero's excuse. ?
People have to realise it’s not just as simple as players not giving a f**k about their clubs, a lot of these nations put a huge amount of pressure on their players to play, often threatening them with future expulsion if they don’t turn up. Not saying that is what happened here, but I would say it’s a fairly good bet that Gio and Romero were strongly advised to go. These are also important matches and playing for ones country is the pinnacle of football for a lot of players. People calling out any of our players for going to play for their country is a little much to be honest. Really this is on the Argentinian FA more then our players.

Maybe some players put the people who pay there considerable wages first... Salah will not go to Egypt but will play in Gabon

I just saw someone here welcoming Ndombele and saying they will boo Lo Celso. So, I guess I just responded to them that that is wrong. I dont need to take this into another thread.

Sanchez info was known to everyone - when he was selected he was selected for 3 games. He got the yellow in injury time to get out of the mess.
Romero was also in same situation - he put 2 yellow card tackles start of Brazil game but wasnt given - I have no doubt the players saw this coming with Brazil authorities.

Just playing devils advocate - If this was Kane, Lloris or Son - they are chosing Country over club whether we like it or not. Thats the reality.
We should sympathise with players being made pawns not showing anger at them. Thats all I would say in this farce

For what it's worth I completely disagree with booing the argentine players. I do think the issue is that 3rd game.
