Mason was a PR exercise. Nobody ever saw him as being qualified long term. Jose needed to be out and Ledley didn’t have the badges.

The only way I see him getting another look in is if we go for Gallardo but need to wait a few weeks. He won’t get the role until the summer.

As an aside, did Chris Powell go back to a role in the academy? Only I saw him yesterday. Walking down the high road, by Chick King. He’s a definite fan, just wondered if he was still on the payroll too.

If he’s the best candidate sure. Nationality has nothing to do with it. Even Nuno is a good manager. Just not the right guy for Tottenham
Let me rephrase, I don’t want anymore defensive Portuguese managers who are Mendes clients, particularly disciples of Mourinho

I genuinely feel for the guy, as he is so far out of his depth, it's painful to watch. The club have to remove him from his duties just to maintain his mental health, as this pressure and scrutiny must be unbearable for any individual to endure.
I think you have made a very good point. Rumours were NES wanted a break from football, as he was missing family due to covid and was feeling 'run down'.

With hindsight he shouldn't have taken the job or been offered it.

The fault is not with NES, I'm pretty sure he does not send the team out and tell the players to make little effort, don't run and shoot off target. Sorry but if you are a professional footballer and you cannot play a 433 system, then I'm at a loss. The players need to accept some responsibility for the current mess.

The main issues are directly the fault of Levy. It is his poor footballing decisions which continually haunt the club.

The last major one was 'turning his phone off' as commonly reported to Man City re Kane. If any player fails to turn up for training and aggressively wants out as Kane did, he should be sold. Even Kane. I said it at the time, not just a hindsight view. Kane now swans around and is 'undroppable. ' It has ruined an already fragile team ethic.

I said it after the Arsenal game. Kane should be dropped to gain control of the dressing room, he is not making sufficient effort to warrant a place in the starting line up anyway. Same with Dele and any other malcontents.

The club needs a clear out and this hasn't happened because Levy wants too much for the players, we had to release Aurier, a player with good value a year ago, for nothing!! That's extremely poor from Levy.

Whoever the new coach or manager is, it will be a pointless rinse and repeat cycle unless Levy steps away from the football side of the business. I think he means well but his decision making has and will remain poor.

Pinned tweet been removed in last few minutes on club twitter feed. Normally done before a big announcement.

The club have to make their next managerial appointment the right one, not a short-term option. Having had 3 different managers (excluding Mason) in the last 3 seasons is going to be a concern for potential candidates.

A far cry from the club that stuck with their manager for 5 seasons.
