I suppose this is the one downside to hiring a DOF. If the DOF hires a five fingered stinker it still reflects badly on the chairman because he hired the DOF. The fact is, barring a turnaround of quite epic proportions, Paritici's first crack at hiring us a head coach has been an unmitigated, entirely predictable and entirely avoidable disaster. We genuinely played Crazy Gang football in the north London derby and got smacked three nil. That ranks as a truly special, gold-plated kind of f*ck up.
Tbf if we had the crazy gang mentality then I think that people would feel better about things. Unless you are talking about the crazy gang comedy team from the 1940s, in which case you might have a point.

Stranger things have happened but how could that not end in disaster even if Levy decided to 'audere est facere' and go for it?

Conte might be slightly unhinged but he's not stupid. How many manager's has Levy conned with the old 'Sure, we'll back you with funds.'? Just off the top of my head AVB, Poch, Mourinho...

How many players have been given assurances that they could leave for a bigger club if they just signed this new deal?

Harry and his brother might have acted like a couple of pillocks but I have no doubt at all that Levy made all the right noises and gave them what to them sounded like straightforward promises.

Eventually people suss you out. Daniel Levy is full of it. Do not, under any circumstances, trust a Daniel Levy promise.

The ITK on ETH's interview was weird. Apparently, the club were put off because ETH wasn't interested in bringing in his own coaches and that somehow was perceived as a red flag by Levy and company.

I don’t believe that for a minute. We obviously fancied him but then paratici came in and we went with his choice because the new manager was his remit. I doubt there was any more skullduggery than that. The situation changed and so did who we were looking at.

I detect from Nuno that he can get us playing better than we have the past three games. I don't think he'll get sacked before Christmas and we'll muddle through. I think he has that in him. There are two problems though. One is that some of the players he's selecting either don't want to play for the club, think they're too good for it or aren't experienced enough.

The other problem he has is that he's endured, in possibly record time, being undermined by Daniel Levy to such an extent that he can't possibly come to any conclusion other than that as long as he's at this club, what he says won't really go and he'll have to be in deference to the Chairman until his P45 or he finds another club.

That's just the way it is.

Where doth the detect this from.

Is you Kojak? ?

If as we are led to believe, Paratici had the loudest voice in the selection of Nuno, he needs bloody gagging for the next appointment!

Conte is still a free agent...just saying!

Where can Conte realistically go? All the big clubs are pretty much set.

I guess maybe PSG or United - but I can't see him managing them tbh.

Hopefully, he realises that he doesn't have many options and suddenly has a change of heart ?

We don't need convincing about whether to trust levy I think we all have the answer ?

Conte won't join a club mid season. That was said before and I think Romano said it again recently.

That's why Conte would never go for it and it would end in disaster anyway. You'd have to give it one window at best.

At the start of the season I really hoped that Nuno could add defensive solidity and positive man management. The first three games there was hope that we were moving in the right direction but then it has gone to pot.
I think Nuno hasn't had it easy - inherited poor fitness and attitude, Kane, Ndombele, being last choice, the injuries and the debacle of our players going to South America.
But I do have big concerns.......
- he started by putting a defensive midfield shield in place which made good sense and then stopped and we are shipping goals....
- dropping Skipp when he provides grit, energy and effort. One of few who are.
- NLD no Midfield plan - playing Dele and Ndombele in the same midfield.
- 433 is at best an aspirational objective when the players don't fit. Play 4231, a place to start from. The 2 is the defensive shield and the middle of the three can be one of dele/ndombele and le celso where they can play into form or at least not fuck up our defensive formation.
- Romero play him - we bought him to be the difference, he won't acclimatise on the bench, he hasn't been tainted with the lacklustre attitude/calamity Jane tendencies of dier, satchel, etc. He was defender of the year in Italy, he must start.
- Rodon, injured i know but when we have seen him he has had the right attitude and given it his all. Would you not rather him or Tanganga with Romero giving it some?!
- Gil - play him if nothing else for attitude.
Not all his fault but some of this is to obvious.

Doesn't look good at the minute but it is still really really early and its not like he's turned our great form and free flowing game to shit is it? We've been incredibly poor for a long while.
There was talk of sacking Klopp in the early days and everyone took the piss out of Moyes for a long while, not taking the piss now.
Got to give him until new year at least.
First 3 games we're all happy and top of league. 3 games later it's sack him lol.
Fickle? Moi?
