One thing I noticed while he was at Wolves was that he always came across very well when talking to the press, which is something I am looking forward to having from our manager again.

As long as there's no books, Amazon docs, or other daft distractions, I see no reason why he can't, given time, emulate what Poch did here.

Could be a few things.

Were there centre backs weak and more suited to the more secure three at the back? By having two centre backs did they find it harder playing out from the back as they were technically limited? Did a lack of a real presence in CF hinder them? Perhaps Moutinho's age was exposing him more in a midfield three?

There's probably a ton of things that contributed to it. But I also believe a good chunk of that squad are quite average and were probably so finely tuned to the previous system that when Nuno tried to change it they couldn't operate as well inside it as they didn't have the correct skillset/energy.

Last year they didn't have a good striker. Everything probably collapsed after they lost Jimenez and the laboured football was almost certainly because of that.

Anyone else feel disapointed that Nuno didn't state his ambitions for the club is to win trophies? Like the guy but he side stepped that question lol.

Well, he hasn't won any trophy of note as manager unless winning the Championship is factored as worthy trophy.

He can buck the trend with us by at last wining something.

Also, for the first time, their signings were questionable.

Semedo is pretty awful, Podence is talented but never really got going, while Fabio Silva is still a fetus (albeit a fetus with a lot of promise).

After selling key players like Jota, Doherty and then losing Jiminez and Jonny to injury they really needed the new signings to step up and no-one did. Pretty much their only shining light last season was Pedro Neto.

I have to say, if we went for Fabio Silva as our Kane back up I'd be happy. His finishing last season let him down but his movement was excellent whenever I saw him and his hold up play is good and getting better. There's something of Harry in that. It took him a while to start converting but you could see there was a player there. Anyone seen more of him?

Four weeks till the start or the season and no incomings or outgoings yet. Badly need a rebuild and there is a worrying lack of activity but suspect yet again we will be giving the likes of Dier, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko yet another chance to stink the place out and let us all down.

Hopefully there be some transfers in nxt few weeks, players only back from Euros then on holiday. Been very quiet for all clubs due to this. Still have blind faith its spurs?

Rather we went for an established finisher like Ings than an unproven teenager if Kane left.

I really rate him but still think it's a bit too early. He's a very mature player for his age but think he's still at least a year or two away from being good enough to lead the line (even as backup) for a club with our aspirations.

If he keeps improving he could be absolutely fantastic by the time he's 21-22 though.

Agreed. But would he be too expensive then? Ings is the better fit for now but in a years time...

Nuno has a track record of bringing players on. I'd be happy if it happened. There's a lot of drive in that kid.

I'm fascinated how he fits N'dombele and and Lo celso into the team.

If he manages it successfully then I think we will have a good season.

I'm not sure a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 suits either of them, if that's the formation Nuno goes with. IMO they're both better in a midfield 3.

However I'm not a football coach in reality, only in video games and in my tiny mind. So really I don't have a scooby.

Jose mouthed off at every opportunity about winning trophies and looked at how that ended up. I'd rather the manager did his talking in how he manages the side. Just because you mouth off in the press it doesn't give the side some magical uplift.

Does 3-5-2 not comprise of a midfield 3 (flanked by WBs)?
