Wycombe have now made a statement, but truthfully they aren't really saying anything. Doesn't come across as if they expected the Reading owner to spill the beans.

Wycombe Wanderers can confirm they are engaged with Reading Football Club in expectation of the purchase of the Bearwood Park training facility.
Last weekend, the owner of Reading issued a public statement in which he announced that Bearwood Park – owned by Reading - was available for sale.
Wycombe Wanderers have been working for some years to either substantially upgrade their facility at Marlow Road or move to a facility that would allow for the necessary expansion and enhancements to meet their vision for the future.
The parties are moving forward on an exclusive basis with the expectation of completion. In the interim, Wycombe hope that if a transaction completes it will provide Reading with necessary financial support to ensure that they are able to meet their ongoing financial obligations.
Further updates will be communicated when available.

I think it’s kind of despicable that they’d take advantage of the asset stripping like this. Buying players in a fire sale is one thing, buying the clubs infrastructure from under them seems a bit wrong to me.

Its a tough one, on one hand, really good business sense - getting a £40million training centre, for £20 million, in this market is daylight robbery and great business to be had.

But, the amount of jobs and people who wholeheartedly love the club that will now be unemployed is actually heartbreaking.

Forget the playing team, its the staff and the people that really love the club.

Man, such depressing news coming our of Reading FC (My sons club)... they have this chinese billionaire owner, who has quite frankly been awful, hasn't been funding the club, so many staff not paid on time, transfer embargo for years, constant points reductions taking place - without those points reductions, they'd be in the Championship still.

They have a brilliant training ground, a great stadium that rivals some premier league clubs, hence being a Cat 1 academy. The owner has today announced he has sold the whole training ground to rivals, Wycombe Wanderers... my son has turned up to work, to be told the clubs finished, and nowhere to train...

The owner is quite literally asset stripping the club down, in preparation for liquidation...

Even the management teams know nothing about what the owner is doing, he has sold players without letting the team managers know about it, the club themselves won't let me son leave and want him to sign his professional contract, and I really cannot do so given this much instability (which is a shame as they have done wonders developing him).

I'm a spurs supporter, but my son has played at this club since he was 9, so I definitely have a soft spot fo rhte club, and the staff are unbelievable, fully dedicated to the club they love, working for peanuts, or quite often nothing at all and even after not being paid, still turn up and work.. really such a sad thing to see
I can’t believe how poor the football authorities are with their good and proper testing as happens far too often.

Yeah apparently the owner fsiled the premier league teating when trying to buy Hull, but the good old EFL welcomed him with open arms!

Reading's training ground might not be sold after all but this post was superb.

Apparently the planning application specifies that the rights are reserved to Reading FC only, so the council won't allow it to be sold to anybody.

Looks like all momentum is with Leeds. Leicester's form has dropped off a cliff. They were running away with it at the start of the year. Would quite like Ipswich to go up with Leeds to be honest.

Let Leicester have to battle the playoffs.

Leicester have spectacularly fucked this, there's no way they should've been caught with that big a lead.

Would that be 3rd in a one horse race?! :cautious:
It's ok we can sell the Ndombele to make them feel better

I have very much enjoyed their collapse. Serious doubt they go up if they finish 3rd, their form does not exactly inspire confidence ahead of the playoffs.

It’s all tight in that league, if Southampton win their games in hand they will be right in the battle as well.

Unbelievable how they’ve blown up, six weeks ago my lad and I were looking at the table and realistically they were looking at about 105 points, the way they are going now they’ll be lucky to hit 90!
