Sounds like cold water shock.
You should never fully immerse yourself in water on hot days immediately. Take time to acclimatise. Wade around, splash yourself.
Its a very expensive mistake to make. Happens every heatwave though.

Sadly happened here in Ireland at the weekend also - young girl again.

Time to start cheering for england womens team. I hope its going to be a penalty free day tomorrow.
You know how it goes....England - semi-finals. Great chance to win the world cup. Either way the excess booze wont go to waste.

Very much looking forward to tomorrow night.

As for booze I am practically teetotal these days, can't remember the last time had a drink - got to be couple of months. Used to spend every night and all weekend drinking in pubs 20 years ago.

I've never been a big drinker. I usually have shandy at christmas, and birthday. Big football matches, and a glass of my favourite wine after i complete a piece of software. So i see booze as a luxury for the big occasion.

This isn't world cup related, but I've just read the news about the Swiss player that's missing:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48821383

Switzerland forward Florijana Ismaili has been declared missing after a "swimming accident on Lake Como" in Italy, her club said on Sunday.
The BSC Young Boys club said they had "been informed that our player Florijana Ismaili has been missing since Saturday afternoon".
"Searches by the police continue," the statement added.
Ismaili, 24, who made her international debut in 2014, has played for her club since 2011 and is the captain.
The club said it was "in close contact with family members".
According to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Ismaili had decided to spend a relaxing day at the lake with a team-mate, and they had rented an inflatable boat near Musso.
"She jumped into the water, but never surfaced again," the paper said.
That's sad news.

I call it the Irish disease, booze has affected so many of my family members, including myself.
I don't seem to be able to stop when I start...

That's enough of booze talk in the WWC thread.

I'm getting excited now. One thing we have to watch against is the early usa goal. The usa seem to struggle a bit more if they have to chase.

Naff all going on at work so I shall be watching the game this afternoon. Cheering for England to win, mainly because the sports pundits over here are so fucking annoying and a USA loss will really shut them up.

Interesting team selections.
Bardsley not in goal, Kirby also dropped.
Rapinoe also only on bench for USA
