I always find it strange how often this happens, not particularly to us, but it seems quite frequent we see teams play each other in the cup and league in consecutive matches.

Didn't Stoke play Chelsea consecutively in the League Cup and Prem this season?

I know what you mean. I've seen it happen a fair few times, but of course in actuality it's probably very rare and we just take note of the exceptions.

Exciting draw against Leicester City but what does Sky Sports send through to my phone as 'Breaking News'? That's right. Liverpool have been drawn against Exeter. WTF?!

From the Guardian "Exeter City, who are 11th in League Two, will host Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the pick of the FA Cup third round ties" it really is nauseating.

We are the only club that was non league and winning the fa cup. Big news plus 110000 watching the final. We won after a replay.

Anyone remember this? 1998-99 season:

16th Jan - Tottenham vs Wimbledon (League)
23rd Jan - Wimbledon vs Tottenham (FA Cup 4th Round)
27th Jan - Tottenham vs Wimbledon (League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg)
2nd Feb - Tottenham vs Wimbledon (FA Cup 4th Round Replay)
16th Feb - Wimbledon vs Tottenham (League Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg)

Not all consecutive but still ridiculous

Yeah it's not obvious, we'd like to bring someone in but doing it is another matter.

Is it? Like we did in the summer?

Well, I'm sure its the intention...but point taken its not a cert to happen.

We're still in a better position to cope with key injuries than Leicester IMO.

Things could be worse. I believe Poch will make the right decisions to win both games. We should be in full flow after the christmas period. We could benefit from our fitness in those two ties.

The key question to ask yourself when looking at our draw against Leicester is, do they think they can actually win the league? That's what they'll have foremost in their minds, as despite their lofty perch right now, three or four bad results will send them down the table pretty fast, and they don't have the sort of strength in depth the rest of the top teams have right now.

January transfer window will be huge for them, once we've seen what they are stocking up on, we'll have a clearer picture as to what type of Leicester are coming to visit

Chelsea. Always at home, always against lower league.

(Always losing ;) )

There's a letter on football365 this morning where someone has totted up Chelsea's draws in the early rounds of the FA Cup over the last ten years and it is shocking.. No way it's down to pure luck..

Apart from Lollerpool being on TV for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday games, does anyone know when the other TV games will be announced?

Went to all of them and bar the replay (think we won 4-0) they were turgid affairs!! All 0's and 1's.

i can see the tinkerman living up to his name and making 9 or 10 changes. Especially with the league game 4 days later.

Bit like Pearson did last year when we choked in the 4th round - hopefully we've learnt our lesson.

what a boring tie at this stage of the competition, same as last year

a tie neither club would have wanted
