On the positive side, Paratici and Levy probably wouldn't be as adamant as now to get him. Imagine Fonseca and Gattuso were even in consideration for the post. But well, Nuno was the worse of all if I am honest.

I hope it's a lesson for them.

Still can’t believe we went from Nuno to fucking Conte in about 24 hours.
Or a Nonte, if you will.

Nonte (verb): to transform excessively and quickly from a state of shitness to recognisable quality. Ex: Gary really nonted his Ford Escort when he replaced the factory fitted tape deck with a Panasonic CD player. Now his Chris Rea albums are crystal clear and his motor is floor to wall with fanny

So if City had made a proper bid for Kane and got Kane, they wouldn’t have gone for Ronaldo

If City hadn’t gone for Ronaldo, Man U wouldn’t have gone for Ronaldo

If Ronaldo hadn’t gone to Man U, they would have about 6 fewer points and would be on the brink of CL elimination at the group stages again.

If Man U had 6 fewer points and were about to get dumped out of the CL, OGS would have been sacked

If OGS had been sacked, Man U would have gone for and got Conte

If Conte had gone to Man U, we would be left with Fonseca and we wouldn’t be so excited for the rest of the season.

So thanks Man City for your derisory piss tame bid of £75 for Harry Kane.

Its almost as if Conte was Paratici first choice ,Levy baulked and then Paratici had a brain wave; Nuno !!
Give him a couple of months and Levy would finally smell the coffee.
If only it was that Machiavellian!!

We don't know all the details about what happened in the summer (Conte's explanation seems believeable enough to me), so I won't be thinking too much about that personally. What seems clear to me is that we laid the ground work in the summer, so Conte has clearly been thinking about us, leading him to fly here and accept our offer so quickly. In a way I think that might actually be the the better outcome, because it's clear that he wants to be here now. In the summer the feeling was that he needed to be persuaded.

We need to give him time. Tottenham actually has a genuine world class manager now.

No one should expect him to perform miracles overnight - we all know there’s a lot of deadwood in the squad.

January and next summer will be pivotal, so that he can sign the players he wants.
Long as we have a shot on target or on goal it’s a good start.

And defence…
I really don't think our defence is as bad as some people believe. Our tactics were abysmal and and didn't didn't matters.

We've got one of the top 3 keepers in the league, along with with Contes coaching I think we'll see our FBs improve and Romero looks great so far. Whoever partners him whether it's Dier or Sanchez, both have had good games so far this season.

He’s very calm and clear with his words (even speaking in a foreign language). Reminds me a bit of how Poch always wanted to find the correct words to say. It should leave players utterly clear as to what he wants.

Those eyes though, absolute craziness is hidden behind them. You can see him giving a good death stare too.

edit: watching that video does make me wonder if he might be tempted to try 424 with us to begin with too if he thinks he doesn’t have enough time to train a back 3 system to the standard he wants.
