His treatment of Kulusevski/Son and Emerson/Doherty/Spence has been baffling to say the least.

That being said, you lot don’t half love a chance to go off on a crazy rant, fuck me

Tonight was on the players. Switched off defensively, again. Conte said this before the match. About keeping alert.

One of those days, sadly. This 11 needs some energy and drive injecting.

It’s definitely not terminal and we have shown at times we have it in us to go forward and get at teams, but Conte needs to make an adjustment somewhere and i back him to do it but he can’t be stubborn and needs to address it like he did when he won the league with Chelsea.

See and this is the problem in his press conference he says the game is in balance, does he not see what we see?

he even almost says we’ve played well ?!

I hope Conte is concerned about performances this season - the worry is he thinks how we've played is all fine and dandy. Results have been fine but it's been a chore getting there. Ultimately I don't mind if we're out of form as this just happens, but we need to be trying to dominate and excite the fans.

It's just not working right now and he needs to make some changes. IDC who but he needs to sit a few of Emerson, Son, PEH, Bentancur, Davies, and Richarlison.

A message needs to be sent that this isn't acceptable. We're not going to continue scraping results with the form we've shown over the past month.

It's the lack of changes and persistence with Son that's irking me. We've played a lot of poor football this season so far but there hasn't been the greatest of signs of willingness to change enough. Yes we've been winning and drawing but a result like today's was always around the corner.

We trod out every week with the same team, put in the same abject 45 minutes and turn it on a bit in the second half to hope to see us through in the end.

Would love to see a bit of balls in games where we're so stale. Spence and Sessegnon on as WB's for instance, Bissouma seeing more football to finally freshen things up in midfield a bit, Doherty being used more as we can only get so much from Emerson, a change to 3-5-2 to alter the dynamic and maybe, just maybe try to impose ourselves a little more, even if just for a plan B etc.

It's also a weird one because individuals were really poor tonight, most of the team really, yet individually we've been much better and still put in a very similar type of performance.

We seem too content to be playing as poorly as we have been at the moment.

To be fair i saw similar sentiments in the matchday thread and it concerns me if he doesn’t see we have a problem, yes we created some chances but of course we would with the quality we have but that’s not enough especially when your forwards are misfiring we need a plan B.

We need subs, can’t just be flogging players as at the end of the game when players are tired you’re leaving yourself open to a sucker punch like today.

I can see the knee-jerking has started in earnest. It was just one of those days, the forwards didn't click and the team turned off at the end against a side that, while inferior, are dangerous. It happens so often in football. We move on.

Switched off defensively after 90 minutes yeah, what about everything before that?

I expect better from one of the world's truly elite coaches. I do understand the Nuno and Jose comparisons to a degree. Whilst I think the comparison is OTT I do think we are sometimes a bit starry-eyed when it comes to Conte and dare not question him.
Completely agree with your post mate but especially this. Elite managers should be able to make changes when needed rather than dithering, be tactically flexible, be able to rotate the squad so as to maintain sharpness and harmony. Atm he is being too stubborn but more importantly predictable to play against.

I love conte for everything he has done since he came in, such as raise the levels of underperforming players, getting us top 4 and also getting levy to show some ambition and helping add so real quality to our squad but conte needs to start using it and step up his own game.

To be fair, the game was in the balance. We may not be playing well but the game could have gone either way.

Weve just veen fortunate that in similar situations this season weve gone on to win. Today our performances got found out.

That was our first loss of the season

Yeah but not our first poor performance. It isnt unreasonable to be concerned, because performances havent been good and at some point, the results are going to match the performances. We have reverted to walking football.

To be fair this result has been coming. It’s not a bolt out of the blue, we have been picking up results but we have been far from convincing a lot of the time.

I agree the performances aren't easy to watch. But I don't think we'll be as bad as that and maybe its the wake up call that kicks the forwards into gear.

Do I think Doherty has more ability than Emerson? No offence but is that a serious question? Emerson is comfortably the worst full back I’ve seen at this club since Trippier.
That’s an odd comment because
Firstly - Emerson as a fullback a actually pretty good (we just don’t play a system that suits him)
Secondly- trippier is still an international quality wingback who many agree would be an upgrade on Emerson.
but im equally lost as to why Emerson keeps getting picked ahead of a fit Doherty. He was a big part of our successful run at the end last season and gave us much better shape and attacking threat.
I don’t know why he’s not back in the starting eleven by now.

And also i’d love to never have a Champions League game played during daylight again, it felt like a Europa league/friendly game.

Can only think that in light of the funeral we’ve been given notice that our game is off at the weekend. So no subs

Performances are either going to catch up with results or results will catch up with performances, we couldn't keep playing like we are and expect to remain unbeaten.
Let's see if we get a reaction on Saturday
