Wasn't Ramos something to do with Paul Kelmsley going rogue and having 'secret' meetings with him?

All snake Commolli mate.

Oh yes he did..

Comolli could lose his job if Ramos fails at Tottenham, warns Levy

And he told The Times: "He has recommended Juande Ramos, clearly he will have [to take] responsibility if it doesn't work."

I have a feeling that Contes hair is super soft and has a certain attractive aroma.

Or maybe that's just what my dreams are projecting into my conciousness. Either way, i love the man already
Yes. It’s called Lenor. These new machine wash wigs are epic. ?

This is the full quote:

"I have seen many managers struggle with his position. He has the quality. He has to understand it is a team and he has to play into the team. It is important to do what the position asks you to do. We are working very hard. He has to work much more than the others. He has talent but he has to put it into the team for the team, not for the single player. Every single player has to know what he has to do. If every player just runs around the pitch, it will be a mess."

It confirms to me that Winks will be starting at the weekend. Despite not having as much quality as Ndombele, he definitely has more discipline.

I reckon both Winks and Ndombele will start

Yeah I expected things to take longer with Ndombele purely down to the style of player that he is. If he continues to work hard as has been suggested then I think the results could be fantastic for us but it will take time.

I think this ties into some quotes I saw from Fabregas recently

I do remember Fabregas taking a long time to get into the Conte team and also Eriksen struggled for a long time, he took Hakimi and Eriksen out the team for weeks at Inter before they understood what was expected. So it fits into the idea that a player like Ndombele needs to work harder than most and as you say somebody like Winks will in the short term probably find it easier to get in the team.

If it was anyone other than Conte (with his winning record) I'd be against that sort of training. Position and shape training sure, but telling people where to pass...? I have full faith in him though as you cant argue with what he's achieved

The Conte style might actually really suit some of our more limited or disenchanted players that have frustrated us over recent years.

I think Winks will always be fairly limited off the ball, but his technique has never really been in question. The main issue has been his lack of bravery, dynamism and tendency to play every pass safe, rarely making runs forward or pushing the limits of his ability.
Under Conte, if Winks knows exactly what he has to do in every situation, suddenly his technique can shine and his other limitations aren't so important. I don't think he'll ever be exceptional, but he could well become a useful, viable option again.

Dele on the other hand is more technically limited, but has a gift of finding space in the box and finishing off moves. If Conte can cut down his overplaying in midfield and tell him exactly where he needs to be to receive those cutbacks and crosses, he might just become a useful asset once again.

This is all 'best case scenario' stuff and I'm not expecting these players to suddenly turn things around, but I do think that under Conte we'll see a different sides to certain players that we haven't seen in a long time, if ever.

Yeah I think/hope Ndombele will force himself into the team but those quotes are what slightly worried me about the fit between Conte and Ndombele.

Conte is all about the automations- every pass is preplanned and the players know where to pass it every time they get the ball. It’s incredibly effective but isn’t hugely compatible with Ndombele’s tendency to make little creative reverse passes or constantly try to beat his man.

Best case scenario is that Ndombele buys in because even if his freedom is limited he’s still one of the best players at the club from a technical perspective so he should be able to improve the system more than a Winks or a Hojbjerg.

The rondos are a lot more intense than before when they just looked to be a bit of a time wasting exercise. Now you can see the introduction of aggressive pressing in them and us moving the ball quicker. Just a small snapshot but a good one to see nonetheless.

They are available to see on the club’s YouTube channel along with his presser from today.

I think this might be the most important aspect for this particular group of players - collectively, they have no ******* idea on where to pass...

I think Dele can be a big winner under Conte - but only if he does what he's told. Conte will not allow him to slow the game down, or to try stupid flicks and nutmegs when a quick pass is on. Dele has the athleticism, stamina, great at running into the box and can score goals to excel as a box-to-box CM in Conte's system (if we play 3-5-2). Dele is good technically - strong with both feet, good control etc. - he is not a creative passer though. If he keeps things simple, plays the way he is facing etc. and passes in the patterns Conte wants and runs on the lines Conte wants, he can be a really strong asset.

I know its a little OCD but I did note the youngsters involved in that video had white socks on (!). It used to be that youngsters making up the numbers wore youth team blue socks. Has Conte just got rid of that nonsense or are they now considered first team squad?

The problem with Alli is I believe that’ll be quite a long process. One that likely won’t get the required result.

The way he talks about Ndombele in the last few minutes of the press conference speaks wonders. He’ll give him a chance but if he doesn’t do what he is asked and goes running off doing his own thing then he won’t play. Same goes for Dele. Follow Comte’s ideas and tactics or you ain’t going to play and it will be your own fault for not doing what is asked.

Also, I wouldn’t completely rule GLC out for Sunday. Conte only says he didn’t come back in top physical condition. Not that he wouldn’t be fit.
