Looks so comfortable on the ball, like the move to a bigger league didn't phase him at all. Came in and did what he's done for Ajax and Denmark for several years now and the age of 21. Amazing buy, amazing player, amazing debut. Any doubts about him only being an FM player should be put to rest. The lad is class and anyone who's watched him in the CL should recognize that.

Will be a vital part for Spurs for years to come. We've got a worthy successor to VdV I reckon, and he's only 21.

I don't even know how you could watch that game and think that. There's not a chance you watched the game. Unless you watched the game on one of those old tv's from the 1970s. But even then, you'd still recognize his obvious quality.

I don't need to watch the entire game in order to appreciate a player, but watching a players highlights from a game can give me a good idea how good they are, all I need to do is see their ball control, decision making, the movement, the passing range and precision.

Such highlights don't always show the bad plays. I am watching the game right now. 4 mins are gone on the clock, the ball reached him twice so far and he gave possession twice , during that time interval Dembele, a player who I consider pure class, completed 10 out of 10 passes and won the ball 3 times.

I still don't understand how he made that assist for the first goal yesterday. nevermind vision, because he didn't even look, that was extra-sensory perception. that sort of split-second decision-making is what was missing last season. had that fallen to Defoe would almost certainly have shot, Adebayor would've failed to control it, and Dempsey and Gylfi would've taken an eternity to decide what they were going to do....before shooting, Bale would've probably scored it lol. it was really brilliant in its simplicity

Good first game. Reminded me of Modric in his effortless creativity and ability to use the ball. Always showed for the ball, always picking out the pass, and showed great awareness on the ball under pressure. Exactly the sort of player we've been missing since Luka fucked off. Let's put this all in perspective can we.

He had an excellent game and should rightly being praised for it - but it was only one game. We need to wait a bit longer because some on here are definitely suffering from premature ejaculation.

What made the performance stand out more is that we were so crying out for someone to fulfil this role in our previous games.

The signs are promising, and yes I know he has played like this for Ajax so not a surprise, but we have to wait and see he can be effective against other PL teams especially when they have had more time to look at him in a Spurs shirt.

Such a great player. Our best signing in the summer for sure. What's for certain is that he's been waiting for a move out of ajax for donkey years and you can see how eager he is to impress.

I've always said he reminds me of fabregas. In the sense that he isn't a technical god like the iniestas of this world, but what's between his ears makes up for that. The vision and decision making is well beyond his years and it'll make him a valuable player for us for a long time.
