Think if we are tying all our assets down to long term deals we should do the same with lamela, who would have thought that at the end of last season!

Love his attitude and work rate, just need to get him scoring a few more goals to tick all the boxs really. He certainly has the capacity to do so and at only 23 he has seems to have a great future at spurs as long as he keeps this up!!

Come on you spurs

Don't think his contract needs to be renewed right now. His slow start at Spurs would have put a lot of suitors off. Next year this time, if he keeps on improving, we may have to tie him down.

"Lamela is conducting this interview the day after – in mid-January – he has completed another double-training session. In the morning the squad worked together; in the afternoon the attacking players did their own work."

Yes... That's what I want to know. Our attacking players need to work out on how to break defenses down.
If we can accomplish that, coupled with our possessive football (and a back up striker), we will become one of the most dangerous teams in football. Our shots on target tally is already up there with the best teams.

No 30m player should have 2 years left.
Sell or sign asap.
I agree - I think that is why he was almost sold last summer. I also think now the position is to re-new, but can understand why Levy may be slightly hesitant to pull the trigger. Lamela is a key player for us - but he has not been in that position very long...

I could see he had talent, you don't get called up to the Argentine team as a teenager and get goals in serie A unless you have something. I wasn't sure he'd knuckle down and adapt to English football. This season he's shown that so I'd definitely extend his contract if we can.

He'll renew in the summer imo

It's great that he is showing what he has to offer this year. Last season mention Lamela to anyone and there was a sense of mocking, he is probing to be a valuable member of this team who can make a difference in games. I feel there is more to come too

I think that he may start taking more free kicks. He tends not to kick the ball that hard and appears hesitant.

Rabona's are all well and good but if he learnt to use his weaker foot he would be a lot better player and a lot more productive in terms of assists and goals.

Maybe all the right footers should use there left foot as well.
Maybe there goals and assists would be better.
