Emmanuel Adebayor (signs on a Loan)

I'm not quite sure why everyone seems to think it's close to being done. Strikes me as paper talk with the odd quote from Redknapp merely saying there are talks.

We've been in 'talks' with many a player in recent years only for nothing to come of it, and with Adebayor's wages, I just wouldn't think of it as a certainty just yet.

Exactly. For those of us who don't buy into ITK there is no reason to believe that this is on the verge of being done really. Having said that, Harry usually moans about wages when discussing potential big name signings, the fact that he hasn't here suggests to me that this is a goer.

The MAIN reason most on here believe it is done or about to be done is because POTL said so imo, yes Harry has mentioned it but he was directly asked about it so all that really proves is we have some interest (something which has been common knowledge for some time) I don't think m/any of us would be overly excited about it happening just yet based on Redknapp's words alone and it is the POTL (and which ITK's) suggestions which has actually got pulses racing

I just hope we are not all putting too much stock in POTL's ITK and jumping the gun. We really need him at the club and very much so in time for the Man U game.

Given POTL's normal levels of ambiguity, not to mention his verified links to the club, I would have thought his confirmation to be pretty reliable.

Like Super Tottenham has said VY has posted that Adebayor is 99% done which probably means we are close to announcing him, as VY has said several times he doesn't hear anything till very late in a deal

its probably been posted before but the interview he gave with the bbc has really impressed me, i think he comes off looking like a smart, articulated and level headed guy despite all the shit we have given him and how he was eventually treated at man city.

he says he wants to just be happy playing football and it sounds like he wants to feel wanted, if we can do that and get him playing to his ability he will be a very welcome addition

The video in that BBC link is pretty awesome. I thought Adebayor would be a good signing for us but wasn't a big choice of mine but from watching the 10 minute clip I now hope that we are close to signing him as I think his attitude will be suprisingly refreshing and of course his ability is very much needed.
