Oooh interesting. And personally, yes. Think Cuti at his best is brilliant, but he’s a bit of a liability at times, has struggled with staying fit and his prioritising being fit for his national team over the club is very frustrating. Also he’s nowhere near as strong on the ball as those two are.

BUT I’m only saying yes if we also bring Adarabioyo as a third option. Think that would be a very versatile, balanced defensive rebuild if so.
Also on this, let’s say we get £50mil for Cuti and £35mil for Hojbjerg.

We can turn that into £25mil for VdV, £40mil for Tapsoba and £20mil for Toisin. There’s the revolution we were talking about!

Would anyone take both Tapsoba and VdV and Romero was sold?

🤔
No, because we haven’t seen what he can do in a quality defense yet. Like, how Jan was very good, but then when we got Toby it was like he went Super Saiyan.

🤣🤣Leading question Trix....

I'll play the game, as it wouldn't surprise me if Juve have been in contact with his reps.

Yes absolutely, I like Romero, but I think he's a liability tbh. Everyone on here raves about him, but I think he looks good because of the utter shit around him.

If Juve want him they'd probably let Bremer go. Interesting?

I think he’d look even better without “utter shit around him”. He’sa great ball player, fast aggressive CB. We’d be digging ourselves another hole.

Romero out and Tapsoba, VDV and Tosin in.

Even then I'd be a bit nervous about bedding in 3x new CBs

We have maybe 3 players who, at their best, are capable of being World Class; Kane (without doubt) , Son and Romero.

Romero was dodgy last year. As were most of the team. But he is by far and away our best defender when on form and ha sthe potential to be better. He also is comfortable on the ball and has decent pace so seems to be able to fit in to an Ange system.

Losing him and brining in those two wouldn't seem like a big step forward. If he was demanding to leave and we also shift Sanchez and Japh (like we should) then we would need Tapsoba, MVdV and a third CB signing.

Doesn't make sense to me.

As much I love Romero, I think I definitely would sell to restart the rebuild with a full Ange approved defense. As others have mentioned, if it meant VDV, Tapsoba and Tosin. That would be worth it in the long run.

If he doesn’t want to be here and won’t buy into Anges plans, then yes. We can’t have players that aren’t committed. I’d rather not start a brand new back line, but needs must!

Considering our defensive record last year and incorporating a radical shift in tactics I think now's the perfect time for wholesale change.

I know it's not a debate for here, but I'd add Bentancur to that list.

I love Romero, but I'm not sure he loves being here. Might as well sell him now, if that's the case.

Partially my point. He's too aggressive.

you can never be too aggressive being a defender, obviously it has to be controlled but feared defenders are usually avoided on the pitch by opposing players. look at stam, people wouldn't go near him. you'd need to be duncan ferguson level of crazy to go there.

I actually think Romero is overrated and considering the abuse someone like Dier gets it’s weird. Romero is a liability most of the time whether it’s from his reckless play or from his injuries and prioritising Argentina over us.

Having said that he’s still new to the league and he’s still our best defender so I wouldn’t get rid of him unless he wants out but if that was the case I wouldn’t lose any sleep especially if we got our money back and then some.
