But even the home game against Shaktar where H scored 4 🤷‍♂️
I felt like that was his farewell match...

personally... I always felt he was gone... and it's not worth the risk to wait and see.

oh and yes... Vlahovic would be a dream.

but realistically... no chance.

Well tbf it can only be 2.5 weeks, which is hardly a saga especially for a transfer (and even for a Spurs transfer!)
It's more the time we spend on that can potentially impact time on another option and I get we can work on separate deals at same time We have several positions we need to buy for so can't be trying to negotiate too many deals at same time.

I like the idea of Vlahovic, but I don’t think we’ll be moving on from Richy so quickly. Ange has said we’re not looking for a striker and that we need to get the ball to Richarlison (who didn’t play a minute of pre-season with most of the starting 11 yesterday).

As others have said, I think a specialist winger creating high quality chances is more important at this point in time. Think our xG was really low yesterday. With better chances, the goals will come.

I don't belive any coach would decline the offer of a striker of his quailty, unless they already have the head ache of trying to fit all his current strikers in a rotation.

Ange MAY have a preference that we spend the money on a more urgent position first - and therefore I think this signing, if it happens at all will be the final flourish after the CB.

I guess the only positive in this sense is that we did succeed with a last minute move for Bentancur and Kulusevski just 18 months ago.

The question is if we put all of our eggs in that basket or trust the scouts and go for Gift Orban now.
I’m a big fan of Dusan and I’m surprised at how many on here don’t rate him. I’m assuming that’s maybe down to how much more of him they saw at Juve then at La Viola. IMO he’s a beast of a forward that doesn’t suit the system he’s played in.

BUT I have a very big concern over him and that is injuries. I actually have more concerns over his injuries then I do Chiesa as I think, watching pre season, Frederico seems to be well on his way back to his old self. Dusan, whilst being a perfect player on paper for us has some big question marks (see below). I wouldn’t be surprised if he needs an operation at some point. If he’s over his injuries then he’d be an easy top pick but as is I think I’d prefer Orban and Chiesa.

If theres a chance of Richi Vlahovic swap we should be all over it imo. Gives room to still sign Orban and maybe ~40m left of kane money to spend on another CB or RW.
100% this. Madrid is in need of a striker and has been linked with Richy before. He would thrive with his brazilian mates rodrygo and Vini jr. Give them a call Levy! 📞

Swap for richi would be a dream scenario. Even good value if we had to pay 10m their way on top

I had these exact issues when I was 15-16 and it lead to my release from Ipswich. It was 2 seasons of constant issues and I felt like I couldn’t sprint full pelt anymore without pain. Completely fucked me as a player that relied heavily on pace and making a high volume of runs in behind the defence. Was one of those incredibly annoying injuries that felt like it was better for a couple hours of training and then come match day would flair up again and leave me useless. I agree with you, that’s concerning

Sorry to hear that bud! Must have been incredibly painful. Yeah it really does sound concerning. I have no idea how they treat it this day and age but I do wonder if some form of surgery would be needed eventually. Dusan as a player when fit is a beast and I’d have him here in a heartbeat if he didn’t have issues but those injuries are a big concern. Tbh I don’t know the latest on him, I follow Inter not Juve, but I doubt it’s something that would have magically cleared up. I honestly wonder if that is the reason no team plumped up for him considering how many were looking for a CF.

I don’t remember it very clearly but I can remember having physio and the guy using some kind of electric machine that pulsed on my groin and that was the biggest help out of anything I had done in my opinion. Sorry I can’t be more specific, I was just a baby at that point 😂 Still took a ridiculously long time to go away though

Not going to fall into the trap again. This is this window version of Dybala we always getting linked with a big name towards the end of the window and it very rarely happens. It doesn't even get close.

Fair play to us, we might take our time but we are finally being sensible

Swapping Richy for Vlahovic and bringing in Orban as a backup sounds like perfect business. Which obviously means there is 0% chance of it happening.

Didn't know this. The variety of injuries here makes me think we should avoid! I'm sick of us having good players who spend half the time on the treatment table.
