we need to get the ball to Richarlison (who didn’t play a minute of pre-season with most of the starting 11 yesterday).
Madness that we knew Kane was off yet still played him ahead of Richy to make sure he was fit for Bayern :banghead:

For me, Dusan is one of the only possibly available strikers we could bring in that would be an obvious upgrade over Richarlison.

I don’t see us getting Dusan and Orban whilst keeping Richy. In fact I struggle to see us just getting Dusan whilst keeping Richy, I don’t believe we will go back to having a £70 mil back up. Realistically looking at the squad I think we most likely bring in 3 more players. A CD, CM/AM or WF and a CF.

Swap deals are incredibly tricky things to do. In theory Richy for Dusan would be excellent obviously. But I think the appeal for juve with swapping Dusan for Lukaku is that they still made some wedge out of it. If we were to swap Richy it would be a straight swap you’d think as they are valued internally by each club very similarly. I don’t see that helping Juve.

Anyway I think ultimately go for Orban (even tho he’s incredibly raw in comparison). Also any move for the juve players probably comes right at the end of the window with Levy hoping they get desperate and more open to selling at a reasonable fee.

I know I've said it before but I hope we don't spend too much time negotiating with juve for him. Either agree it quickly or move on, can't afford another bastoni situation were we spend too long trying to agree a deal and end up with a poor option like lenglet at the end of it.

Have to agree with you, if Juve are selling Vlahovic it is only for money.

I like the idea of Vlahovic, but I don’t think we’ll be moving on from Richy so quickly. Ange has said we’re not looking for a striker and that we need to get the ball to Richarlison (who didn’t play a minute of pre-season with most of the starting 11 yesterday).

As others have said, I think a specialist winger creating high quality chances is more important at this point in time. Think our xG was really low yesterday. With better chances, the goals will come.
Ange didn't say we're not looking for a striker as valid as your other points are. We'll definitely bring in a striker before the window closes. Ange did say Veliz won't get many minutes which leaves us with just Richie. There's a gap in the squad there whilst we need a clear out in other areas.

Well tbf it can only be 2.5 weeks, which is hardly a saga especially for a transfer (and even for a Spurs transfer!)

It's not really madness though, is it? If you stop playing the guy, it takes away one of the assets of your negotiating strategy - which is that you're prepared to walk away. By not playing him, we would have been very much indicating that we were prepared to sell.

Yeah, they have started trying to sell some of their young talent in order to make some coin. For example they have put Matías Soulé, young highly rated Argentine RWF, up for sale and he was one of their most prized youth assets for a while. This is the only way a double deal for Dusan and Chiesa might work as we would pay for one and swap Richy for the other but I think it’s complete fantasy unfortunately. Ether way, any move for Juve players ether happens if we pay well (which isn’t our style) or wait until the last possible moment of the window when Juve start getting itchy and hope that we get a breakthrough. Which is why i don’t see it happening.

I guess the only positive in this sense is that we did succeed with a last minute move for Bentancur and Kulusevski just 18 months ago.

The question is if we put all of our eggs in that basket or trust the scouts and go for Gift Orban now.

Not going to fall into the trap again. This is this window version of Dybala we always getting linked with a big name towards the end of the window and it very rarely happens. It doesn't even get close.
Too late. I’ve just had a picture of him tattooed on my face.

I think if a country "invites" a team over, they kind of expect their talisman to play.

but then... a fake muscle strain will also suffice. :ROFLMAO:

Frankly... i would want him, but i don't think he will go to a team that is not in the champions league. if we are going against Chelsea.... we won't stand a chance.

I haven't watch Dusan at all but I'm not very bullish about Richy's efficiency in putting away chances. From stats I've seen posted on here, Dusan seems to be the real deal. We're not gonna get anyone putting up Kane numbers, so he seem like the best amongst the decent strikers out there.

I’d swap Richarlison but ideally we’d keep him. After yesterdays performance it looks kind we have last years son back (early days obviously) so could push Richy out wide and have Dusan up top when Son is not in form.

This is the one I really want.
Them down the road were pushing so hard for him before he moved to Juve it would also be a nice middle finger to them when he scores the winner in the NLD!

But even the home game against Shaktar where H scored 4 🤷‍♂️

I think Vlahovic is perfect for this new system. Would love to see him but more in hope than expectation

It was when they were linked to him I remember seeing this. Apologies for the gooner intro everyone but nice bit of skill.
