Just a side note: I don't care if you disagree with something I wrote, but if you're going to disagree with someone's post and it wasn't an accident, at least muster up your internet courage to post a rebuttal. At least that way I can see if your point is more valid than mine.

Lennon.

Siggy's way more versatile, younger and he fits the 4-3-3 or the 4-2-3-1.

Sell both, Lennon suffers from Defoe Syndrome where promise as a youngster is never fulfilled. Siggy like Dempsey never quite fitted in last season and I don't see that changing, another player who needs to be a big fish in a small pond to shine. I was surprised last year we didn't sell for a profit when Reading came calling and I can't see us passing up this time especially as our U21s seem to have some promising players in midfield.

If we could get 25-30m for the pair and get Bernard and a CB it would be a major squad upgrade.

Surely the whole point about a disagree button is to dispute your statement. You have an opinion that Siggy is a better player than Lennon others like myself disagree. You have an opinion that others don't share, which often happens with football, I'm not quite sure there's any reason to go over familiar ground, it's not as if everyone doesn't see what Lennon and Siggy offer, ok maybe Siggy has had less opportunity to show it, but there comes a point where it really is easier to simply agree or disagree.

And I'm glad you bring this up because in no way did I say that Siggy is a better player. The question was who you would sell? To which I mentioned Lennon. I think Siggy has more potential given his age and his versatility. And if the streamlined squad rumors are true, having a guy who can realistically play 2-3 positions at a starter's level makes more sense over a guy who really only has one position.

Also, Lennon holds higher value and Siggy has a better chance of increasing value while Lennon realistically will diminish in value.

They are trying to get us to up our bid. Mite work all depends on other outs first.

Very interesting. Would love to see us nab Bernard not sure i'd really want to see Sigi (talented and versatile) or Lennon (great option for a complete change of style if 433 inverted wingers isn't working) to leave. If it's simply about squad size then no problem, Hudd or Parker can go.

Snarf, it's a gray. Disagree was changed from a red by Rob so that people could disagree without it being seen as aggressive.

Dislike still gets a red.

Granted I don't use either, but I think the fact that the X is red makes us think it's a douchey thing to do, but Rob has really tried to make it something people can use without starting fights.

Hope that helps.

I just think that Lennon is undervalued on here. He is a very good player, only falling short with goals. Had Ade or Defoe had a better season then Lennon's assists would've been much, much higher. Siggy was getting muich better towards the end of the season & I would like him to stay too. But between the 2 I'd keep Lennon. Especially since we have Soldado & an un-ACN Ade this year

Fair enough for me I'd take the guy with the pace, the PL exp[erience, the familiarity with the team and imo a far better creative option. I think Lennon's big weakness is lack of goals and I think Siggy can score a few, but I think the one thing that stopped Lennon being in the higher assist echelons last season was simply we lacked a decent striker to finish off a number of good chances Lennon created.

I think right now it's the creativity we lack, between Bale and Soldado we have plenty of goals and with players like Verts capable of scoring a few from cb and Paulinho likewise from CM we have goal scoring options. What we lack is creators and that aside I think that Lennon is a regular starter whereas I always see Siggy as a bench player. Now of course Lennon needs competition and at times he hits a run of poor form and so I'm not saying he should always be a guaranteed starter simply that for me he has enough qualities and strengths to add to the team to justify a regular starting role whereas for me Siggy's best strength is coming on as sub and maybe hitting a long range goal that might give us an edge

Still all about opinions (y)

Have we worked out if third party ownership is in fact an issue, as reported earlier?

Not as far as I am aware - but others wash over this.

Only way it will go away is if we eventually pay over the odds as the 3rd party will be concerned about selling too cheap - and it just creates uncertainty until the signing is made. You think all is sorted but then they renege at last minute wanting more dosh - as has purportedly happened with some of our other dealings over previous windows.

His 3rd party ownership is only 10%.

But we still have to buy out those 10%. The 10% are owned by BMG iirc, which is a brazilian bank, this might (i hope) mean that they are less prone to dirty tricks and extortion than an agency that purely lives off buying and selling third party ownership etc.
