Absolutely this. It’s all about the movement and vision, you don’t have to lump it up to a big striker, you just need to be able to find space and exploit it. Peak Barca didn’t have a target man, they had Suarez, Neymar and Messi. Man City have dominated domestically for the last few years with either Aguero or Jesus as their main striker.

And United played with Bruno as the false 9 today and tore Leeds apart. The game is changing. With more teams playing out from the back and wanting possession, the requirement fo an old fashioned target man has lessened. Not saying I wouldn't love to see Vlahovich, but for me, that's more about his finishing rather than his hold-up abilities.

Honestly cant see us buying him & Lautaro even if Kane leaves. Probably one or the other & then a backup striker like Jovic or Brathwaite. Also, cant see how they could both start with Son. Upfront should be Son + Vlahovic/Latauro imo.

Absolutely no reason why we can't buy both if we're getting dirty oil money. We can afford it and, personally, I'm sick of Spurs only having one striker. It's pathetic and needs to stop. We also don't have to play all our best players at the same time for every game. It'd be nice to have some rotation options so that we don't keep running our main guys into the ground.

That said, given Nuno's been setting us up in a 4-3-3 I see no problem with: Son -Vlahovic - Martinez as a front three with Son and Martinez being fluid. It'd be nice to have some actual goal threat from our wing positions for a change. It works well for Liverpool so why not us?

Dont think that was peak Barca, peak Barca was David Villa false 9.

That sounds like good news for us tbh. Sounds like we will move soon to me and I hope we take the initiative with first mover advantage.

This guy is reliable too

Dusan Vlahovic issue to Atletico de Madrid: still WITHOUT agreement. All paralyzed. And be careful because the other option on the table for the rojiblancos, Rafa Mir, is complicated: right now the signing is almost down. The club continues to work, has several plans

I watched his celebration when he scored last night and it looked to me like a man punching the air knowing he'd succeeded in impressing his prospective new manager. :cautious:

We've Been told a striker was coming whether Kane remained or left and 2 if its the latter. This lad is more than good enough to play with him or stand in for him so it's odd a striker hasn't been brought in. There doesn't seem any benefit holding off as we will see that old deal breaker from selling club "we haven't time to find a replacement!".
Maybe Vlahovic and Martinez are two of Fabio's famous spinning plates I keep reading about.

What if he doesn't want to join while Kane's here because he thinks he'll spend most of his time on the bench? We might have a back up player lined up to come in if Kane stays, but two better players to come in and compete against each other for a starting place if he leaves.

I have no idea why we weren’t trying to get this done 3 weeks ago
Probably because we have no money without the kane sale. When you look at it Gollini and Romero are loans. Gil was covered by alderweireld and foyth. No coincidence we have all these links and no trigger pulling til Kane goes.

It's a good job that in the PL you and 4 team mates get the entire 6 yard box to yourself, too - makes him well suited :cautious:

How shite is defending in that league?

They were playing a 3rd division outfit, basically an Italian Leyton Orient

Maybe just being optimistic here but Rafa Mir's agent is the one and only "Mr Mendes", we know how much he motivated by moving on a player and making some mula!! ? ?
