Is he still gardening?

Beds & borders look amazing and his grass must look like Wimbledon, before they run about on it!
Paratici on gardening leave?

The garden:

A pretty big reason mate. We still have no clarity on who leads our recruitment division and no transfer negotiator after 3 months.

People are searching for answers all throughout the transfer forum on the slow progress on deals both in and out. Well, this is why.

I believe this situation and lack of any response to Paratici’s ban is the key driver.

I’m not sure what you’re hoping for though mate, the club aren’t going to have Levy pop up on YouTube and start introducing staff.

We know who the lead scout is, and I would suggest that whilst paratici led on transfers and negotiations, there are probably several people who play parts in them on his guidance. You may well be correct in that Levy is now playing the role of sending people out with an idea of what his negotiating stance and budget is but I don’t for a second believe that Levy is solely responsible for every conversation that happens even if he has the final say so.

It also isn’t just us dragging our heels on transfers, sure ours are the only ones WE care about, but other clubs fans I’m sure are on their message boards wondering why player x hasn’t been signed yet as their ITK crews and various reports have linked them to similar for ages. We just don’t read those posts so we’re unaware.

We have this thing where other clubs sign players and we think it’s out of nowhere, but in reality if you looked at their forums you would likely find long lists of links to those players and people getting frustrated at no progress on them.

I’m as frustrated as you or anyone else at us not having the clearly needed CB’s we need as of yet, however we have signed Vicario, Maddison and Solomon. So whilst we don’t necessarily know who is having which conversations on transfers they are happening.

Personally I actually think it’s down to Kane at the moment. I think we’re waiting to see if that proper bid comes in that we accept and we then use that money to push on with business, I feel that’s probably where the hold up is.

Do I think it’s best? Not really. Do I think we need the Kane money to be pushing on with transfers? Again no, I think we should easily have money to be doing some bits of business without needing that additional cash. However I feel given the way it’s been in the past that’s probably what it is.

Totally get your frustrations, and my comment re the thread bump was tongue in cheek tbh. However I do think if you’re waiting for clear and obvious news on the recruitment team and how it’s all working, you’re in for a very long wait.

At what other serious football club could we see a head of recruitment banned and removed from the club, and then receive zero updates on his status, a potential succession plan, or any clarity on the situation whatsoever?

Once again it’s all on Levy’s shoulders. I’m not saying that he is personally picking up the phone every single time and presiding over all the details of deals, obviously he isn’t, but I disagree with you - I think he’s the only true leader at the club in the back room. That’s not to say there isn’t a department working on it… but there isn’t a lead.

The fact that we don’t have a lead deal maker and negotiator at the club is a huge fucking issue. I’m tired of people ignoring the elephant in the room here. Daniel Levy has too much on his plate, it’s blatantly obvious.

Just want to bump this thread 3 months later with some updates.

-zero official statement from the Club on Paratici outside the initial one in April
-zero news on a new director of football or replacement
-zero news on what capacity Paratici still holds in the club, rumors that he is still advising, rumors that we're still going after his list of players, but nothing concrete
-zero transfer negotiators at the club outside of Daniel Levy
-exactly one player sold (Harry Winks)
-zero clarity on who leads the recruitment division of our football club outside the scouting team.

Complete and utter negligence.
Why would they give updates on someone who isn’t employed by the club?

The thing is, after a good start to the window it now feels all a bit 2018 and a bit rudderless. Like then, we aren’t making any progress with ins or outs. The outs are almost as important as the ins and nothing feels close on that front either. Then there’s the Munn non appointment on top of it all, which can’t help. Levy is obviously up to his old tricks. It can be all tracked back to that.

If our starting goalkeeper got banned -

wouldn’t we want news on the replacement?
Yeah and when there’s a replacement we’ll be told, they’re not going to be telling us what Paratici is up to now and what capacity he’s involved in, he’s officially nothing to do with this club.

Right. And going with this goalkeeper analogy. We’re in the middle of a match, with a penalty shootout coming up. And we still haven’t got a goalkeeper in net.

that’s essentially the situation we find ourselves in this summer transfer window.

No bother that the head of recruitment and the director of football at our football club was banned from football?

no bother that we have done absolutely nothing to replace or fill his role? Incorrect.

I guess it’s all in my head then. I guess the transfers this summer are going great. They are
Lets tuck this thread back into bed with a warm glass of milk, ok?

It's had a rough day and needs to rest.

No I’m with you on the Sporting director, we need one, just they’ll never give us an update on Paratici because he doesn’t exist to us anymore.

So, if and when he manages to clear his name of all these charges and we decide to bring him back, the thread starter need only make a slight alteration to the title of thread to "Paratici Re-signs"

I take it you don't subscribe to the old adage that no news is good news?
