I hope he does well at Everton and rediscovers the Dele from a few seasons ago. He was a joy to watch and such a key part of our team under Poch. Also he was great at winding up the other teams and fans as well which is always a bonus. The video brings back some good memories. He scored some cracking goals for us and also created a lot. A big part in Moura's winner for us in Amsterdam. Will miss him but it is the best thing for him (and us) that he has moved on. Good luck Dele!

Almost feel quite emotional watching that. The instinctive brilliance that he seems to have lost recently but gave us so much pleasure in his prime.
Hope he gets it back (not against us obviously) and goes on to fulfil his true potential, and finds peace and happiness off the pitch too.

Hope he does well. I have a bit of a soft spot for Everton being the blue side of Liverpool with utterly obnoxious neighbours.

Was definitely an emotional watch. Also left feeling very disappointed and almost angry at the drop off in this lad. From being one of the first names in the England team sheet to not even making some match day squads for the club. To think at 21, he had more goal involvements than Gerrard, Lampard and Beckham combined and also more than Ronaldo!! The regression in recent years is just utterly baffling.

Like Mourinho said in the documentary, only he knows the reasons why but I am sure all the distractions in his life outside of football (ie fashion endorsements, video gaming with the pros, pictured with a different girl every now and then in the papers) certainly didn't help and once he lost that magic he hasn't been able to rediscover it since.

Best of luck to him at Everton and really hope he can get his game going again otherwise he will go down as one of the biggest wastes of talent to have played the game.

Hope he kicks on at Everton, needs to be played in that second striker role to really do well IMO.

I ultimately think he was a victim of the lack of squad investment, for him it was double edged sword where he was run into the ground and picked up muscular injuries that have robbed him of some of his fluidity of movement. It also meant his place in the side was never really challenged, and he lost his hunger to prove himself

Hope he can rediscover his hunger and love for the game, and be happy but I don’t think he will ever scale the heights of his first few seasons with us. He will always be a spurs legend for the brilliance of those halcyon days

I think Dele felt the loss of Dembele more than others as it meant he had to pick up extra responsibilities on the defensive side and lost his freedom a bit.

Always got the feeling this led to a change in mindset for him where football went from being fun and playing with freedom to more of a tactically conscious ‘job’.

Would love to see him get some of that fun back again

I think he was a victim of youth, he was at his best having fun, maybe having to grow up was a mistake!

Also with stardom came distractions, great lad, was a great player for us.

I hop he rediscovers the fun!

I had hoped that he would go out on loan, rediscover his mojo and come back to us like the old Deli. :-(

Hopefully he will be happier anyway.

Thanks Dele for entertaining, and showing some audacious footballing moves, Along with some gifted goals..
(Excellent use of that track that brought tears to my eyes; I’m a sentimental old fool)

The video makes me sad. What a player we had when he was having fun and playing without fear. His personality shone through in those first few years.

A combination of things have meant that this move was almost inevitable but I hope he finds his mojo and gives Everton fans some of the joy he gave us. That Palace goal will never get old.

At 20k per week, he was a good player
At 120k per week, he became a terrible player
From what I read he was on £100k weekly and in any event that has nothing to do with his performance as a player. He has suffered a lack of confidence after a succession of hamstring injuries and this was exacerbated by the juvenile treatment he received from Jose Mourinho, the position in which he was made to play and some other players around him who were not up to scratch. At his best we had the best back four in the PL, Dembele and Wanyama in midfield and Eriksen providing creativity.

It was wonderful to watch him play at his best and I hope he can recapture that with Everton. Thanks for some great moments, Dele.
