He has ALWAYS been this player. His game hasn’t changed a bit in my opinion besides maybe getting rid of the endless nutmegs.

Harsh but maybe true

I maintain he needs to be played off Kane’s shoulder. Get him as close to him as possible. It will benefit both players. Harry hasn’t been the same either.

Sorry I'm sure you can post without swearing. A scapegoat for yesterday's evening's defeat. He described his performance as steaming dog shite.
I am not denying his form has not been great but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until he's fully fit.

I've not seen anyone say it was his fault though

Nothing to do with being a fashionista - it's to do with having this "Internet" thing.

I don't care if it was his second game back - Colchester are 10th in League Two. Looking out of his depth against them is embarrassing. I actually blame Poch for his awful form, but to deny Dele has been absolutely atrocious lately (pre-injury too) is bollocks.

This. He needs to focus on his football. It doesn’t sit right with me when I see him dressed like some wannabe fashion icon in a purple shirt and green glasses in some nightclub like he’s already made it. Especially when he’s been so poor for so long.

Success comes too easily to young footballers nowadays and unless you have a top top mentality like Sterling or Kane, you can get distracted easily.

Alli has been diabolical for two years. He’s always had severe limitations to his game but he hasn’t developed any of his strengths or weaknesses at all. In fact he’s got worse.

The guy is so overrated for what he does on the pitch, which is very little.

I hold Poch responsible for some of it, what exactly has he done to develop Alli? There no evidence of any progression at all, just decline.

His goal v Palace was nearly four years ago ffs. A bit like Spurs under Poch he’s dining out on yesteryear.

Just another player who is disappointing and showing no improvement.

With several players wanting to leave we need players like Alli showing potential and giving us hope.

Football isn't anywhere near the top of his list of priorities. He's too busy playing celebrity, whoring products on social media and trying to build himself a brand.

He doesn't care enough about football to ever be a top player. That's the reality of Dele Alli.

How do you know all this?

I remember there was a poster not long ago who said he’d sell Alli for £100m and he got many funny and wtf ratings. I wonder what many think now?

I would have ripped their arm off when offered it and spent the money on Zaha and AWB. We’d be much better off.

I still don’t think we should sell potential. Alli was performing to a very high level, especially for a man his age and had a work rate.

We’d be crazy to sell players like that unless the manager really saw something in them that wouldn’t continue to develop.

Football fans are talking from the outside and should acknowledge that our views are based on too little info, especially regarding character.

It depends on what we do with the money though doesn’t it? Liverpool sold Coutinho and improved their side considerably. Obviously homegrown players are always preferred, in an ideal world we’d have 11 Englishmen but sometimes it’s worth taking a look at the trade off and taking advantage of the inflated prices that come with English players. Ndombele and Lo Celso would have been £25m more each if they were English!

Most of us can probably agree with the sentiments of this but at his best Alli was class. Another Rolls Royce player who seemed to have more time and space on the ball than those around him

Also as has been said he'd have many 'quiet' games but always come up with a bit of magic that affected the game in some way

He’s generally been miles off that player for a good while now

I do think in a way Alli’s decline epitomises Spurs under Poch. Arguably was his best season last year of the Lane and it’s been a gradual decline ever since.

I think he is someone who would benefit from a new voice and coach, who can try to improve the player tactically and technically. I do think he has several limitations to stop him being really good, but I believe he would show more signs of improvement under a different coach. Much like the rest of the squad.
