The speedy right-sider, who turns 22 on Thursday, sent in a cross which was accidentally nodded past his own goalkeeper by Guatemala’s Carlos Castrillo to give the States a 19th-minute lead.

I feel sorry for him, we're just wasting his time. We have 3 right backs, Townsend and Lamela on the right and perhaps another winger as well if we sell Lennon.

We have 3 right backs, Townsend and Lamela on the right and perhaps another winger as well if we sell Lennon.

But 1 of those right backs is never fit or on form lately, and 2 of those on the right are ineffective on the right.

It's like saying we were wasting Bale's time because we had Benny, Bassong, Naughton and Corluka all capable of being LB, and Lennon, Dos Santos, Rose, Modric, Palacios and Jenas all capable of playing in wide midfielder.

I'm on about Trippier who we just bought and Fredricks, you're probably on about Dier and Chirches. If he can't get in the side ahead of Chiriches then he's finished.

Apart from Benny none of those were specialist LB and apart from maybe Dos Santos none of those were a specialist left wide midfielder, so his route wasn't really being blocked.

In order for the cream to rise to the top, you have to take it out the fridge and pour it into the cup in the first place. Bale was given a chance to impress, Yedlin hasn't.

Yedlin had only just finished a full season in the MLS, plus had internationals too.

I imagine that Poch knows better than to throw a young pacey player straight in without proper training and rest. If we were making this judgement after his first full season, fair enough; but we're not.

He has been fit to play for a while he could have made his full debut against Villa. Chirches was considered the better option, I don't get that. He's not going to go on loan, he's made that clear, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

I'm sure he's paid very well for the waste of his time.

Give the club and the player half a chance. Walker went on loan to Villa before getting into our side.

And cheer up Mullers you miserable git.

Klinsmann has said that Yedlin's long term position is right midfield and with is pace he is definately a in the Lennon mould. Defensively not ready for the premier league in my view bit going forward he could be deverstating especially off the bench with 30 mins to go...

He needs to go out on loan. Kane, Townsend and Walker did it. Worked wonders.

The money is not the issue, footballers who aren't mercenaries want to play and he laughed at the loan rumours on twitter.

I'm a realist, I speak the truth as I see it whether good or bad, don't mistake that for being miserable.

Nothing wrong with saying it as it is.

Stambouli for example? Buy him sell him in 1 season. Never played. Whats the point?

Agreed. I just don't think Poch wanted him in the first place. If this story is true, we are really pretty lucky, that he has decided to not dig his heels in and stay.

Bad scouting on Stambouli. Unfortunately, sometimes when a player gets to the team you realize he just can't play at the level the team needs him to. Happens with every team every year

Rumors that Fredericks may be sold. I feel it is pre-mature for us to do that to him, but maybe we have made a quick decision.

Fredericks has to be sold. Only has 1 year left on his deal and we have Walker, Trippier, Yedlin and KWP coming through at his position.

I looking forward to seeing this lad play for us. Hopefully, he'll get a bit of a chance this season, anywhere on the right will do me.

he's playing a lot of football pre-season, it's a good job he'll get a nice rest when the season starts for good.

Mind you, Yedlin played as a right wide MF vs Guate and not as a RB.

Klinsmann played him on the RW against the Dutch and Ze Germains.

Daley Blind got a new arse torn that night and last night Yedlin played another very good game.

The refusenicks need to cut the kid the same amount of slack they do for one Mr "next season will get better" Lamela.

He could have a future on the right wing. I don't see him getting ahead of Walker or Trippier anytime soon. He could be a replacement for Lennon one day if he moves to Everton. He's not been around long and clearly Poch doesn't fancy him at right back yet given he's played Chiriches and Dier out of position there and now has signed Trippier. Poch signed him so must see something in him.

At the rate he is improving, I'm not sure we should loan him out, he may soon put some pressure on our FB or RW players.

HE could be the ideal cup player for us this season.
