Is the consensus that Sanchez jumps straight into the best 11 with 3 at the back if this goes through? Rotated with Dier maybe?

This tweet roughly translates to: "The cash register is going to ring in Amsterdam! According to Valentijn Driessen, Ajax will receive more than 50 million euros for Sánchez. What an amount!"

A big sum!

That must surely be someone else then? Can't see us spending that kind of cash on him, it really doesn't fit with the kind of players that we need the most. Then again, I said the same about Sissoko. At least this guy looks promising.

This was the first think which came into my head seeing that fee. Stinks of Chelsea or Liverpool to me

€50m on a position that isn't a pressing need is difficult to believe.

We must really, reaallllyyyyy rate him if we're bidding €50m for him. That's insane for a CB.

I do find that hard to believe, especially considering our transfer policy. I think €35m sounds about right.

Or guys, and hear me out here, the 50million amount is wrong and leaked by Ajax as a PR move while we hammer out an actual fee.

Okay I know it's been over done but with the whole craze of announcing signings in a creative manner. Danny Rose googling him and then watching a video of Sanchez and turning around and saying I approve with a thumbs up would be absolutely hilarious:D:p

I know it's been joked about but could be something in this in all seriousness. Would be a good bit of PR for both parties. Would show the club is willing to move on and put an end to the saga. And it would show Rose can laugh about himself and possibly be a way back in with the supporters.

Perhaps Poch wants to try three at the back with Toby, JV and Sanchez. Trippier and Davies down the wings and Dier or Wanyama sitting deep. With Lloris in goal, that would be the best defence in the EPL again. If we can keep Alli, Kane and Eriksen fit we will be right up near the top once again.
That would be a very boring lineup, those two aren't overlapping fullbacks at all. Unless we have Son as AM and Eriksen as a CM.

It's probably the total if all the add-ons get triggered. Probably as a compromise to reduce risk on the transfer, we may have agreed to pay a smaller upfront fee but offered in return a much higher return for Ajax if the player is successful. That way, Ajax can claim they got up to 50 million, and we can claim a deal worth an initial 25 million or something like that. Everyone is happy :)
