My personal opinion is he will be gone anyway if we can sort a replacement. For me he's behaved worse than Walker, and we all know how that panned out.

Modric did it all behind closed doors did he not (could be selective memory on my part) - to go to the press off your own back is unforgivable. He's angling for a transfer but not got the bollocks to hand in a request.

Maybe I remember it differently, but I'm sure I remember him coming out saying that he'd had a gentleman's agreement with Levy and that he wanted to win things with Chelsea. An exact quote was, "Chelsea are a big club with an ambitious owner" - pretty much exactly the sentiment that Rose has come out with.

I would like to go to Chelsea. A lot of players would like to go there and play for Chelsea because it is one of the best clubs in the world, and so do I. I would like to play there. But we will see what will happen. Chelsea are a great club, they play in the Champions League every year, they have great players, they are ambitious and have an ambitious owner who wants to invest in the club and make it win the Champions League, the Premier League and other titles.

"They are going in a great direction and everything about the club is very good. They [Chelsea] are the only one who sent an offer and they are at the moment my first choice.

In fact, Modric was worse imo. He was talking about one of our most fierce rivals, one of the teams we hate most. He was forgiven though and is now well-liked again, because he was a much prettier footballer to watch than Rose and hasn't got a reputation for being a prick, even if his words suggested otherwise at the time.

The timing of Rose's comments are unforgivable. He's a jump up prick, but it's not like he's the first of his kind.

he could have said sorry and signed a big new contract by then
it also depends how we start, if we start crap then he could be used as an excuse for that
if we start well, are close to the top and have signed new players then why boo and potentially harm ourselves
all depends

BD has been our RB/FB since January, as far as I can remember he done pretty well. This coupled with DR interview, do you honestly think he will get back in the side anytime soon if he hasn't been sold?

from a fans point of view not knowing what happened inside the club Walker has behaved ok
no paper interviews, nothing on social media, very respectful after he has left

Problem is Trix is that we have had 3 months to replace Walker and haven't - and that would have been an area we would have been looking to recruit. We would not however have been looking at the LB position.

If it was 3 poss 4 before, it's now 4 poss 5 - and not sure we have the time to find players of calibre req'd

I really like(d) Rose even started to become of my favourite players in the last two years but he destroyed that now.
Wouldn't mind selling him to United for big money to push other deals through + Shaw.

I can't see him being booed. Modric kicked up a stink all summer angling to move to Chelsea and got a massive reception.

Modric was one of the best players in the world. And he wanted to move, he didn't criticise huge aspects of the club to The Sun (unless my memory is clouded..)

we cant sell this window, sets a terrible precedent
any player unhappy with his contract will do the same
we cannot let rose and walker go in the same window, the money is pretty immaterial as we have 80m from this summer sales and cant seem to spend it, what good is another 50m

Harry and Levy handled the whole Modric affair brilliantly imo. Kept him out of the team until the window closed, then as soon as it reopened he knuckled down, his first game back he scored that worldy when we smashed the scousers 4-0.

When you say Harry handled it brilliantly, didn't he tell a reporter we should sell him if he wanted to go?

The fact he was acting alone I think is his saving grace. Maybe in his tiny pea brain he thought he would be doing good, changing the Spurs model for the fans and players alike, if he had said to his agent "I want a move" and the agent came up with this plan to engineer one then that's another matter. The fact that he's totally put himself back 4-5 years to probably getting worse abuse than he was getting when he signed that new contract he'll have to live with.

Also on the fans front personally I have never booed any current Spurs player (including Vega and Ghaly)
But if the boos ring out and start to affect team performances or morale (which we know they can/do) then Poch will have no option but to withdraw him from the team and probably the squad. (yesterday I would've said that's probably what he wanted to hasten a move, but with this acting alone ITK I am not so sure now)

Shaw now falls into the same category as Lamela, Sturridge etc lots of talent but always injured and not worth the risk.

Don't remember that to be honest, remember him saying he wasn't in the team at the start of the season as his head wasn't right.
