Man, this hurts. I genuinely thought Rose was Spurs. If this is him then another piece of my love for the game is about to die.

Rose needs to wind his neck in. I can understand his frustration but to come out and publicly - okay, it's 'anonymous' but it's pretty clear it is him - mug off the club like that is unacceptable. Especially considering that if not for Poch he'd be at a Championship level club right now.

The euphoria of the last games at white Hart lane and the season end has been eroded by the clubs poor transfer policy

Sadly the players are playing above their pay levels and the club either cant pay them market rate or the club chooses not to pay market rate

Could equally be just Rose seeing things as we have, that the club really needs to maintain the momentum Poch has built over the last two seasons, make the additions in order to kick on and start to win things. Which then gets sensationalised by the press.
Ultimately, if it prompts the club to make those final additions to match his ambition, and stop other core players following suit, which then leads to him getting his head down and continuing to deliver as he has previously, is it really a bad thing?

Few things are odd in the article...

"Top 6" club was a term used, which implicates Liverpool much more than us...

And "household name"... Not sure your call Danny Rose that.

Alternatively, I'm clutching at straws.
to the media we are top 6 and they'll call anyone a household name to sell a story.

Of course it was a warning - just because he gave a warning doesnt mean what he is doing is acceptable especially after going back on previous interview as well as having a lot to owe to Pochettino.

As part of a team that cost very little and yet ended up 3rd and 2nd over past two season, I'd have thought he'd might understand that bringing in flashy new players doesnt guarantee success.

Just seems like another player getting all 'Billy big Bollocks' because of having a couple of good seasons and that is something that I dont like whether its Spurs or non Spurs related.

He's not a fan, so let's start with that. He's a player.

The reality is that he's a 27 year old player from Yorkshire who is the best left back in the league, reaching the peak of his career, and being paid a third of what he could be paid elsewhere with a total of 0 trophies to his name.

He's prepared to stay despite that, but if we can prove that we can do what it takes to strengthen ourselves to give him a fighting chance to win things with us.

I'd say that's fair enough. Fuck, I mean that's what we all want too isn't it?!?

Yet with 3 days before that season starts we have showed no ambition at all to do what's necessary to give us a chance.

Absolute fucking joke, finishing second and selling the best two full backs in the league, the envy of the league and the two positions that are crucial to the way we play under Pochettino.

Selling Walker was bad enough, but if this is true its going too far now.

Showing ambition? It's get embarrassing.

Fans have a threshold ffs.

It mentions nothing about selling him mate. There's not a chance he leaves this summer.

Cant wait to hear the glass half full fans about how rose going is a good thing

Nobody would do that, and I"m one of those 'glass half full' fans you refer to with such disdain. We'd all be fucked off if we lost Rose, but at the same time if he's coming out and burning bridges publicly to get a move then he's a **** and but for us he'd be a lower league player, not a first choice international right back playing champions league football. It wouldn't be anything to do with medals or our ambition, it would all be to do with getting more money, and that would make him a **** as he didn't have a gun to his head when he signed his latest deal

I can't wait to hear the reaction of the same fans who actively profess to be happy with our 'business' so far this summer, even when our longest standing player is pretty much burning his bridges with the club because of it.

Naming no names of course.

I would not blame poch for thinking 'fuck this' and walking, I sure as hell wouldn't want a job where I was expected to work in completely different circumstances to competitors.

Oh dear.

Rose has always been candid in his views, but worryingly he's probably just saying what a lot of players are thinking.

Some of the younger players may be more patient, but Rose probably feels he is in his peak years and can see we are not capitalising on the great team we have.

The best time to invest is from a position of strength to consolidate your position, not just get the cigars out.

At the end of the day players want medals. Money helps, but primarily it's about winning things. They probably couldn't give two shits about the stadium.

Must say this is shaping up to be a cracking transfer window .
